Hey GC, I started up my grow project about 2 weeks ago and I'm beginning to see spots on one leaf. It has only shown up the last 3 days, but it is steadily worsening. The strangest thing is that the spots appear on only one leaf. The other three large leaves seem perfectly normal. I am running a small dwc system using General Hydroponics nutes FloraGro, FloraMicro, FloraBloom. I have been following their recommended chart; I'm on week 2 of veg with a ppm around 800. I've looked at the posts in the stickies and I cannot pinpoint any easy thing it could be. The pH has been right at 5.8-6.0 and the temps are right around 78F. I changed the water again today and rinsed the roots with some h2o2 solution, but they appear quite healthy. The only condition that stood out to me was a boron deficiency. I do not have enough experience to be sure if this is the case. Can anybody confirm or deny this? I read somewhere that you can buy boric acid as an eyewash, would adding this to the water help? I included a pic from 2 days ago, 1 day ago, and two from today so you can see how it is worsening. Also I included the pic that made me think it might be boron deficiency. Thanks!
Calcium or Magnesium def possibly, Get some cal-mag and foliar feed or put a bit in your next water. Could also be PH problems, check your PH.
hey man u didnt say what kinda lights you are using have u folair fed with the lights on that could be a issue i had something similar happen to my plants at that age but soon enuf it cleared up, good idea just folair feed your plants with ph distilled water when the lights are off and leave a fan on thats what i did and soon enuf it disappeared, hope this helps KAT
So I tried a cal mag foliar spray but it does not seem to be alleviating the issues. Now another leaf has the brown spots, and the original one is worsening still. I'm quite sure its not a pH issue, my pH stays right around 5.8-6.0 and I have not foliar fed with the lights on. Heres what they look like now:
hey man tell me did your spots start off like this http://forum.grasscity.com/sick-plants-problems/352303-light-green-spots-lower-fan-leaves.html it could be a humidity problem either what is the humidity atm in ur grow room
Its similar to that, but I think it started off brown - no real light green color. That pic looks like the same location, however. My humidity is a bit low I think, around 25-30%; could that be the issue?
that could be a issue it mioght be allowing moisture to develop try and get a little fan heater in thre and turn up the humidity that should help, i found once the heat went up it dissappered it should be round 60%. but i would still flush first mate or both even better
