Leaf rustiness

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by Cape, Feb 13, 2021.

  1. Hey there!

After some advice as to what deficiency I could be dealing with if possible please!

Hydroponic RDWC, have just moved to flower over the last three days and noticed this issue : was seemingly running stable so far at 20 CF - water pH 5.8 and temp 24, Humidity is around 50%

Forgive me the photo is a little dark but shows a little rustyness, the rest of the leaves are showing good colouration so it’s just early stages for now..

P.s leaf is curled like that due to the scrog 634917980.879211public.jpeg

  2. Hello!
Kind of looks like a start of phosphorus deficiency but I’m leaning towards a Calcium deficiency if I’m not mistaken.

  3. Thanks for your reply! A mate said Phosphorous as well so might give that a try..

I feel like it’s had a good amount of cal-mag unless it’s running low.. First time growing so a bit of a newbie haha

  4. Could be some sort of light or wind burn too....

  5. Too much ________ is usually the answer. (You fill in the blank)
When I start getting problems like that, I add some calmag, raise lights, and reduce total feed.
And make sure pH is good.

Chasing deficiencies will likely fail, because that's unlikely to be the problem.

Too much fertilizer can cause elemental lockouts and problems like yours.
Following fertilizer companies' recommendations will often cause trouble.
Half strength is closer to the truth.

Fertilizer companies want to maximize profits by recommending too much.
