leaf problem, need help!

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by dirtbikeracer14, Oct 16, 2011.

  1. I can't figure out what is wrong with my girl. I thought it was a nutriant burn but I quit giving it nutriants all together and I still can't figure it out. She is about 4 feet tall grown indoors under a 600w hps. All the leave are doing this. The new leaves that come in look great until about 2 days later then the same things happen. The edges of all the leaves turn a crusty brown and eventually fall off.posted pics

  2. are u ph'ing your water?

  3. Yeah. I'm using tap water and I don't lnow how accurate my ph tester. Do you think that could be my problem?

  4. Try this get some espoma garden lime from home depot $4 for a small bag.. that's all you'll need. It comes in pellet form which you will add to a 2 liter bottle. Directions are on the bag, use what you feel is appropriate.(less is better) Stir up your upper-most layer of soil maybe the top inch, avoid the roots! Then fill your bottle 25% of the way with hot water to break down those pellets and give it a few good shakes. Now add coolish water to the bottle until you get a relatively roomtemp bottle. Slowly water the freshly aerated soil allowing the water to penetrate deep and deposit lime. Lime will buffer your soil's ph and keep it relatively where you want mid 6!

  5. jw but how big is that pot that its in? looks small but cant really tell

what is the ph of your run off?

  6. The pot is a 1 gallon, but I think I'm going to change it into a 3 gallon pot. So do you think its a ph problem? My ph ranges from 6.0-7.0 at times.

i say your plant is severely root bound if its 4ft tall, you should put that in at least a 5gal pot maybe even 7gal.. rule of thumb is 1gal per foot tall the plant is.

i wouldnt think its a ph problem..looks like a major deficiency and the roots are sucking up everything it can get from the 1 gal of soil its in..

    how often do you water?

  8. Defeciency check your ph asap

  9. Really don't water that often once every 2 days and I check the soil, I just transplanted it into a 4 gallon pot and it didn't look root bound at all.

  10. i had a plant start to look like that when i had mine at my friends house since he had his card while i was waiting for mine.. he was barely watering them at all and it had spider mites. when you water you want to fully saturate the soil until you have a decent amount of run off. then let it dry out completely which takes about 4-7 days depending on temps. im pretty sure it was a huge deficiency of magnesium, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium pretty much everything.

what soil are you using? and what ferts?

heres a pic i found from when it was at his house..
    does it look like this?

  11. it was an easy fix...i used ff grow big at 1/4 dose which was i think 1/2 tsp per gallon and watered the shit out of it like once a week. every 7 days i dumped about a full gallon(mixed with fox farm grow big) into a 5 gal pot and flooded it. as soon as i got it back she was doing awesome.

give it tons of water but not very frequent(let the soil dry)
here is how it looks now a few months later
