Hey all I need some help diagnosing what is happening with my Northern Skunk. I almost almost 11 weeks into grow and almost week 5 of flower. Recently it started to have a yellow mottle to it's leaves. I planted in Happy Frog and have used the FF Trilogy nutes at about 1/3 of the FF recommended feed schedule. For the past 3 weeks I have been watering every 2 days with a little less than a half gallon of RO water with 1 tsp of Tiger Bloom per gallon. I feed, feed, water only. For the past week I have only been watering every 3rd day. Any help is appreciated.
what are you night temps? i am looking at this i am stumped at the moment. looks like the night temps are to cold but its summer and usually the leafs turn purplish. tiger bloom #s are 2/8/4 should be just fine. what are your temp swings? also what lighting are you under how far is the light away. and pull 1 of those leafs off and snap a close up of it. pull a few leafs off snap pics of affected leafs. is this problem only on 1 plant or more. is it starting from the bottom of the plant ? or only on the tops?
Bryan, Thanks for the quick response. I have two plants growing in a 2'x3'x60" tent that has two Viparspectra 300w LED in it along with a charcoal filter. Light height is about 10" now into almost week 11. Lights started at about 24" and have lowered. The lights have now been at this height for... About 3 weeks. Night time temps are 65 and get to 74-75 with a RH of about 40%. I live in the mountains of New Mexico and its rather dry. But these factors havent changed since day 1. The other plant is a White Widow and no, I do not notice it on that plant. It is effecting leaves only half way up. I took several photos and am attaching them now.
Honestly I do not know what the PH is. I use strictly RO water, nothing else has been given to them. The other plant does not seem to be effected at this time.
to me the plant doesn’t look happy at all. are you making your own RO water? i would check your ph, in and out. get a cheap meter. start with the basics and make sure they are all in check before figuring out what your plant is lacking.
Well the only other thing I could suggest is maybe give it some calmag they usually are screaming for that s*** during flower. I normally don't use a whole lot of it may be a tablespoon a month. But the guys are right if your pH is off you might as well forget feeding and everything else cuz you'll just kill your plants. You can always take tap water and bake it outside for 24 hours to kill off the fluoride another s***. I know it's frustrating try not to get upset. I would do that and see if the water helps correct it. But yeah knowing your pH is huge. Maybe even see if you can just borrow some buddies meter just to know what your water is pH Wise Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
Hope.it helps. Im not the greatest with deficiencies. That may change one of my buddies wants me to try this new Mega crop lyna nutrients I'm sure I'll have some deficiencies then Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
pictures Marijuana Leaf Symptoms and Nutrient Deficiencies – Sick Plants with led calmag should always be used. these make the plants use up cal mag very fast. look at all these pictures. the tell tale sighs your having are not typical for cal or mag issue. but its very likely this is a issue. your nutrient is widely used. not an nutrient issue. after you look at all these pictures if nothing matches up if i were you i would just add calmag and check in a week. its not often i am stumped on a plant problem i am on yours. hoping we get a good opinion what is going on. sorry i am not a lot of help today. for future reference always use calmag along with your regular nutrients in veg as well. edit look at the calcium picture. black spots in the leafs.
I also think it's calcium deficiency. I have some leaves that look the same, cal mag stops it. Same purplish coloring going on, my space hits mid 60s every night.
Oh wow i read the royal queen flowering link and they said cal mag really needed during beginning of flower. Im a fox nute guys. There is some in the trio i believe Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
ill bet a hundred its calcium issue after comparing your pic along with calcium in the website i posted. what was tricking me usually it will form small brown spots.
Thanks Bryan. I looked at those pics before after googling and trying to figure it out. It makes sense if it is cal-mag. I have had this happen before on a Caramel Cream grow about the same time, and thought it was just a deficiency because of flower. Hell idk what I was thinking but the plant flowered beautifully and is one of the best smokes I have ever had. I will begin to incorporate the cal-mag into feedings. I grow peppers and use it on them, not sure why i didnt think to do it on the ladies. Your help was perfect. I appreciate all of you guys comments/help.
Yeah I am also a FF Trio guy. Just using Tiger Bloom now though due to the flowering timeline. I had some cal-mag on hand and added it.
Okay I'm a complete Fox guy if you're not happy with your bud size you might want to go to their PK booster Beastie Bloom and cha Chang. I swear by that stuff. But a friend of mine's talking me into trying this Mega crop stuff going to do a small one of that and see how it does supposed to be a lot more affordable but I'm totally happy with Fox I don't care what anybody says I will never totally walk away from that. But I'm bored with not getting deficiencies LOL Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
It's probably calcium, but might not be due to lack of it in the soil. I'd bet that it is from excess potassium. Read about nutrient antagonism. The Grow Room: Calcium Deficiency: Signs, Causes and Cures Also, notice that it is on the leaves getting lots of light. They are working the hardest. You may want to do a simple soil test and back the lights off for a few days. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
