Growers Choice Hindu Kush Autoflower, going on Day 52. In the early stages of flowering, got some buds developing with some long white pistils. Estimating the plant will be ready between June 20-July 1. The plant has been showing some leaf yellowing/damage for about 3 days now. Ive ordered a pH tester for the water and soil but it wont be here for another 4-5 days. I think Im using a 'hot' soil but up to this point the plant has been doing fairly well. Any ideas as to what problems the leaves are trying to show me?
Hey Digga1, hey trojangrower! A few more bits of info: gave it a heavy watering a few days ago, now Im letting the soil dry out real good for another few days. It seems when I let the soil dry out, the problems quickly get worse. Leaf margins are beginning to curl on me as well. At least good news is flowering seems to be going well.
He has another picture he PM me, the top leave's & tip's were yellowing from the inside out. The reverse look of a Nitrogen deficiency and to me it looked like an "Iron" deficiency.. But this is something else and im not sure, Ph? @SierraFrontiersman2 can you post up that pic pls?
How hot has it been lately? Your grass looks like mine so if it’s been 100 for the last few days it needs water almost everyday. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Hey MidwestMover! Oh yeah where I live its been getting 98-105 pretty consistently with low-moderate humidity. Tomorrow is supposed to be 108. Im just concerned with over-watering it, havent quite figured out what is the proper amount of soil moisture. As of now I havent watered in nearly 48 hours. The soil is still moist down about 1.5 inches but dry above that.
That is iron deficiency. Can be locked out when there's too much of something else (K?Ca?Mg?). You can add cal-mag solution that contains iron (I know Calnesium does).
The iron deficiency sort-of resolved itself about a week ago and those symptoms of yellowing from the base out did not persist. This new issue is much different, unless its the same deficiency that is appearing in a different manner. This new leaf discoloration is burnt/browning tips that move from the outside of leaf to the stem. Also, the iron deficiency affected only new growth, and this current problem is only damaging old fan leaves.
iron def shows up on new growth. Glad its resolved. My best guess for the other condition is still phos def, but I'm not sure.
Thanks trojangrower for the input. Im not certain either as to what the deal is, but ill just keep doing what Im doing I guess. The lil' Hindu is making some bud, slowly but surely!
