I germinated my two seeds via the paper towel method, 24 hours later both cracked and had 1/2" taproots already. I placed them in two daisy cups with my soil mix, about 1/2" under the surface, and watered with filtered tap. Hopefully they'll pop out here in a few days. Now I can't remember for sure, but I should be using the cfl's for the first week or two, right? When exactly should I switch to my 1000w? Can't wait, I'm so excited
Day 8 Well one of my girls didn't make it, so that only leaves one left, but boy is she thriving. I transplanted to a much bigger pot, and I switched to the hps yesterday. Bud porn!
Day 11 My girl is around 2 1/2" tall and is already developing her 4th node. There is almost no stretch between nodes, which I will hopefully be able to snap a few pictures here for you guys. I fim'd the newest growth, hopefully she'll recover pretty quickly and I'll have a few new shoots growing! I will plan on adding a scrog here at some point, hopefully between the screen and topping my girl it'll help increase my yield!
Okay here's a few bud shots, tried to get one showing the recent topping I did, but my camera wouldn't focus properly and the growth is so compact it's hard to even make it out on camera. The only concerns I have are the largest set of leaves have twisted a bit, I'm not sure if it's stress from topping or due to some other issue. Any input would be appreciated!!
Day 14 Yesterday I watered my girl and gave her her first feeding of big bloom nutes at 1/3 of what the feeding schedule recommended. I've been battling temperature problems with my tent. It's just too small to effectively cool my hps, even with the hp dimmed to 600w, and even with a 600cfm fan exhausting, so I made the decision today to move my grow into a closet, much bigger space and there's an ac vent to help maintain temps. The shoot where I fimmed now has 4 new growths sprouting, and while I can see some signs of stress on the lower leaves, she is still continuing to grow bushier, although vertical height is still under 6". I'm guessing the roots are still working their way out in my 12" pot, hopefully here soon I'll see an explosion in height.
