So, me and some people (i was friends with 2 of them but didn't know the rest) are smoking in an apartment off campus, we're supposed to go over to this place 1 mi away to sell this kid a half o of mj (not mine). My two friends and one of the kids leave to go to this house, my friend put his cannabis in a red water jug with a t shirt sealing it inside my trunk. I have a pipe that i purchased at a headshop in my center console in a sunglasses case that i forgot was even there. Anyway, this dumbf*cking kid that I never met has a bottle of crown royal that I had no idea he had and he has it in a brown paper bag that i didnt even notice (we were extremely ripped haha). anyway this kid steps out of my car just before we are about to back out and HANDS THIS BROWN PAPER BAG TO SOME BLACK KID IN HIS CAR WITHOUT EVEN TRYING TO CONCEAL IT AND THERES A DAMN CHARGER PULLIN UP RIGHT BEHIND US, HE HOPS BACK IN THE CAR AND THEN WE WERE ALL LIKE HOLLLLLLYYYY SHHHIIIITTTTT WE ARE FUCKED ITS A COP, he turns his blue lights on. fucking asshat and turns out there was a bag full of rolling rock that my friend had brought too that i had no idea he had. anyway cop comes to my window and tells me how he saw the kid handing out a paper bag and how a cop had detained the other car and tht the kid had told the cop that there was liquor in it. I was sketching out and the whole car was too, the cop asked if there was anything in the car, i told him no, he asked if he could search it i said no i dont consent to any searches. of course, the guy keeps tellin me they are gonna get a warrant, i dont believe him but im scared. other cop comes over with the other kid and theyre chillin. they get the rest of the guys out of the vehicle and charge the asshole with unlawful possession and distribution, he was crying, i felt bad but he kinda fucked us all over. one of my friends got a drinking ticket, the other one got off scot-free. they all patted us down 3 TIMES, and on the 3rd one the officer touched my nuts and it kinda freaked me out and i reached my hand down and touched his wrist, holy shit bad idea, he went hulk hogan on me slammed me to the ground and the 4 cops all jumped on me pounding my face into the pavement, still got a little mark from it. put me in cuffs, gave me a failure to comply thing, even though i just kinda freaked. i felt like rodney king when those cops jumped me hahaha anyways im in cuffs and the cop comes back with a warrant, they rip my car up and find the weed, idk why but i admit to the pipe being mine and i get a paraphernalia charge set for october luckily though, no possession charge though bc i told them the weed wasn't mine. Anyways, sorry for the long story but should I hire a Lawyer for the court date? Or just try to work this out myself and save money?
Lawyer most likely can't do anything in this situation nothing is circumstantial since you were caught red handed- Live in NC too btw have had my share of run-ins with the police.
Yeah bro just save your money on the lawyer bro. They got ya with that one. Just be happy it's nothing else. Don't feel bad though. I got caught a year and some change ago for Possession with intent to sell and distribute in NC. I'm just now getting changed to unsupervised probation. You probably won't get hit too hard with anything. Just some drug classes and community service, if that.Don't worry about it brah!

oh yeah man. First offense. You shouldnt have too much to worry about dude.If anything, you want some legal advice for the court date then go about getting a Public defender for it but in this instance the outcome will probably be the same so just roll with it. I wish you luck friend!
When I got my possession & paraphernalia charges in Wake County little over a year ago all I had to do was pay like $300 for some bullshit drug class. Once a week few hours for a month, wasn't that bad. Bunch of potheads in a room trying to tell the counselor that weed isn't that bad lol. Most of them were there for getting caught with their bowl, dumb weed stuff in general. Few actual druggies mixed in, but they were weird quiet types. Except the meth head... he was funny. You'll probably do something similar, unless your county is completely different with it. In my situation a lawyer probably could of had it dropped, but it would've cost me a grand. The $300 for classes also cleared my record.
Anyone that posted anything in this thread about getting off easy is a fucking idiot. I just got charged with jail time, a year probation, and a fine in North Carolina. This is my first offense and they didnt take shit easy on me. Fucking pinwheels down there in that shithole state I swear.

Lol did you make your username for this thread? I got a possesion and parphenalia charge last fall in NC. I forgot what its called but basically I just talked to my DA before my court date. Instead of going to court I just got 25 hours community service and a fine.
were you a first timer? I got pulled today for speeding and also hit with p&p. I think I'm gonna lawyer up this time around and not leave it to a pub def since I'm in school studying pharmacy and this would leave me royally FUCKED. to the OP, paraphernalia is up to 6 months jailtime but if it's ur first then u'll may be able to still get diversion classes and the other charge dropped. 2nd go around, well .. i gues I'll see you inside
