I planted my first three seeds on 8/24 and three more on 9/1. Im by east county sd. Theyre sitting windowside until big enough to survive outdoors. Or atleast until i have to transplant. I started in small cups to give the seedling best start possible. This is my first grow(three seeds are bagseed<blueberry/sensi star> had them together so i lost track of which is which. , the other three i picked up from a local delivery service.. (two royal kush, one pre-98)) im not neccesarily looking for high yield with this grow, more just for the experience growing the plant, learning their charecteristics ect. My two main questions for this post are a) did i waste seeds planting so late out? And if i did not waste seeds, question b) what tips and tricks can i take in to make the most of this experience? Come actual outdoor season im gonna order seeds from a reputtable bank of some favorite strains but I wanna get experience growing before the season comes around first so i can make the most out of the grow season. Being limited to 8 plants sucks.
Yeah i know im expecting an 8th or a quarter if that but i just wanted A grow under my belt. Is it safe to assume i wasted time even trying now? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
idk if they will have enough time to flower outside but depends when winter comes for you and how cold it gets
They will grow and flower pretty fast. Think of it as a 3 month auto flower. Since days are short you won't get good veg time. Not a full potential plant, but it will grow. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I dont expect any great yields but im just hoping to get through a life cycle digging deep in these forums to find anything that may help them reach full potential thank you for the input Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Any chance of getting some supplemental light to them? Even a white shade cloth for greenhouses might pick up enough light to be a reflective source, might buy you an hour more of "twilight" intensity light. I've seen videos of shade grown cannabis and it will grow, just lanky and larfy. Supplement with more light if you can. If not, you're kind of at the mercy of nature. Do what you can.
Is viparspectra reflector series 300w a good investment? Would that be a good supplement Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
yes i hear those are top of the line for led i use bloomspect but i only veg two and a half weeks and use 1 gallon pots lmao yielded 2.5 oz outa 4 but sativas taking 13 weeks to flower smh never again not worth it unless u veg for 8 weeks
1 gallon pots, isnt that kinda small? Why the short veg with this grow? Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
1st time lol i used what i had and ocean forest is expensive but this time i got smart pots 3 gallons tent (3ft x 3ft x5 1/2 ft) 2ft of happy frog (9 gallons) and 1-3 gallons of coco and perlite mix depending if i want something else while shopping
Ahhh okay, sounds like your first grow was productive though. How much where the smart pots? Are they considered the next best thing to planting inground? I need a grow tent but i want a smell proof one idk if they make those. Cant have the smell inside the house Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
air pots are better than planting in ground same with smart pots cali growers use huge smart pots for their monster size plants also i recommend growing in a shed just build your own grow tent or buy one then cover with insulation and a heated seedlngs mat to make sure the heat doesnt just all rise out
Hmm im gonna look into smart pots ive seen them mentioned atleast once in every three posts i see. And now that i think about it i did see some monster plants and they where in growbags so ill def use them for my main grow in april/may. Dumb ? But are they reusable?
