Late Flowering Light Cycle Change

Discussion in 'Advanced Growing Techniques' started by MalibuGym, Sep 1, 2011.

  1. Hello Grasscity, I was wondering if anyone had any experience w/ increasing the dark time during the last week or 2 of flowering. It mimicks the fall's light cycle, but last night, the lights were left on for an extra 45 minutes, (my timer malfunctioned) and this morning (1pm) I woke up to the largest trich increase yet, (and there were a lot before)(platinum bubba) And I was assuming the opposite would be true. I was thinking of the talk of 24 hours of darkness before harvest that is supposed to increase thich production. Any advanced growers have any knowledge on this? thanks.......

  2. Extra darkness before harvest isn't to increase trichome production. It's to quicken ripening and to actually slow growth. Newly formed buds haven't had time to ripen and decreasing their production at the end of flowering will also decrease the amount of less-than-ripe bud.

  3. Yupper's!!!
