So I'm preparing for my second grow and I've got a few questions I kind of need answered before I start. It is going to be a single plant scrog in a 7 gallon pot. The cabinet will be roughly (give or take 2-3 inches) 28 wide x 22 from front to back x 54 tall and I'm planning on using two PC fans on the very top for outtake and one PC fan on the bottom for intake.. I have two 2 foot 4 bulb T5's for veg and a 150w sun system hps for flower. My main concern is that the hps will be too hot in a cabinet inside a closet. What do you guys think? If it is going to run too hot I'd like to get some LED lights if they won't run too much money. What type of LED lights would you recommend for about equal yield to a 150w hps? I'd like to be able to order these LEDs asap if my cabinet runs too hot when I test it with the hps. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if these are kind of dumb questions but like I said this is only my second grow (been a few years since the first) and my first time using anything but fluorescent lighting. You dont really need an intake fan. You just need the openings big enough to let the other fans expell enough to keep your temps down. What ways are there for air circulation to get into the closet. If you only have fans in the grow box and no way for them to intake fresh air from the closet I dont think it would do much good. I would take that third fan and find a way to use to expel more air or cool your bulb. These are all hypothetical answers though hard to say when all the info isnt there to make a better decision. I was using a 250 mh for a veg area and I found it just got hot and stayed hot i even had it in a cool tube that i built just to contain the thing. Ive ended up switching over to compact fluros for my veg. I can individually turn them on or off and they have definitely made my veg area temps easier to deal with. Good luck keep asking questions many people have gone through alot of similar issues already. So there is usually an answer just have to find it.
Honestly the closet and cabinet will be open most of the time I'm home and the closet can be open when I'm not home so long as it's during the light cycle. The closet is just for extra light protection and because sadly the only capable spot for this grow in my current situation is in my bedroom. Thanks for taking the time to respond man.
