    First let me say I love Mary Jane dearly, but she just can't give me the kind of buzz I feel just being with this one particular girl. I just met her like 4 days ago, but she's from the town I'm moving to for college. She's against drugs and alcohol, but not for the wrong reasons. I debated her on pot a bit, and she agrees that it is not that bad. She knows about it's medical benefits and all. Her final arguement actually made me think, though. She made a point that marijuana can change people. Smoking pot really hasn't changed me in any big way, at least negatively. But it has caused a somewhat more suttle change. I spend a lot of money and time on pot. It really has effected my social life, since I've been more low profile since smoking pot. I have my reasons, haha...

    I enjoy getting high, my life is actually chill right as it is. But lately I've been missing the whole aspect of being in a loving relationship. This girl and I see eye to eye on everything. All except pot, and as much as I'd like a stoner girlfriend, I can't pass up a chance with her. We have talked like 16 hours on the phone over the last two days, so I think that's an excellent sign she really likes me, even if she does refuse to come out directly and say it. She's hot and extremely intelligent and for the most part open-minded. I know that I can live without pot for the natural buzz she gives me, even if it is just over the phone. Tomarrow I'm making a small road trip so we can hang out in person. Oh fuck yes. I guess it just came down to a personal decision, love or getting high. And if it doesn't work out in the end, Mary Jane will be on the backburner to comfort me.

    I'm still gunna stay on these boards, because this place is like my home on the internet. And Mary will always have a place in my heart, and maybe someday in the future my lungs, bloodstream, and brain, again. I have until I move to quit, so I'm not done quite yet. A few more weeks of living it up at my parents house, and then I'm gunna start my new life at college and hopefully with this girl.

    I respect and understand your decision dude, good luck with the girl.. and like you said if it doesn't work out MJ will always be there..

    You haven't met her in person? You are the only thing who can affect your descisions, whether you smoke or not. You can be high off love with this girl, and still get high off your current girl... MJ, but you dont need to give up something you already love to gain the love of someone else.

    Whatever you choose, should (safely) benefit you. If you really just do want to take a break and/or quit, then so be it. But if you really dont want to stop, dont. If this new girl really likes you for who you are, then she already likes the guy who smokes the grass, and she will understand.

    wait ya have you not actually met this girl yet? its kinda confusing how you wrote it, if you have met her than i respect your decision but if not than i wouldnt plan on quitting yet

    Nah, but we are hanging out tomarrow, and she's most likely gunna be a close friend anyways, since we will be going to the same college. I met added a bunch of people from there on Myspace, just so I'll have some friends when I get there.

    She doesn't want me smoking pot, and I can accept the fact that I would be happier with her anyway.

    thats ok but talking on the phone doesnt constitute she likes you at all dude, that doesnt make sense no wonder its a highschool relationship. good choice though, girls are worth it definetly.

    High school relationship, eh? College, dude. And she's made it quite apparent that she's into me hardcore. I'd get more into details on the converstion, but I don't want this to go into Pandora's Box, haha.

    i think you should just hold off a bit, for her, not for you. and just bring up the subject everynow and then. also ask her if you can just quit untill you guys are together in person . she might appreciate the commitment and she might be more leniant to let you smoke when you just with her.

    I'm really not rushing things, though. I'm just gunna let things happen as the are meant to. I'm just pretty sure something will come out of all this.

    Haven't met her..and known her for 4 days..might not want to consider throwing in the towel just yet.

    I still have a month before the actual move there, so I'm not completely sure I'll need to quit. I'm pretty sure things will end up with me quitting, but the future could always change things. A lot can happen in a month, haha.

    I hope it works for you man, pity she doesn't smoke though. I guess turning down love for pot would probably be a sign that you have a "problem" with it. Right now is real early in your relationship though, maybe at this point you could just be willing to give it up for her if it turns out she's really going to be the one you marry and have kids with?

    I'm definitely not knocking your decisions though, it's just the thrill of love wears off after a year or so, I guess the body just stops pumping all those endorphins into the blood stream after a while. Then, while you'll still love her, you'll also have to do your own stuff as well and Mary is definitely your own stuff. ;)

    She'd be right about the cost though, if you had to keep buying it, but it'd cost you nothing if you grew. The only thing she could be concerned about then is you getting caught. Though, if it were to become legal she could have nothing against you growing and smoking when you're married, and going to a coffeeshop after work would be no different from going to a bar. And I'll bet she's got nothing against you doing that.

    Make sure she has nothing against you fighting for law reform though. That's a justice issue and costs nothing. If she has a problem with you doing that then you're going to have a real problem, cos her hangups over pot will be more than what she's told you. And she'd better be willing to go to Amsterdam at least once with you and visit a few coffeeshops and get stoned with you.

    I'm just saying it's one thing to give up smoking everyday for love, it's another thing to give up everything you believe in for love.

    I dont know OP, this rubs me the wrong way. I know im going to take shit from most of the people here, but its the way i feel. Show so damn backbone, if you want to be with this chich she must accpet you for who you are. You should never do something just because someone else wants it to be a certain way. She makes these VAGUE assumptions that weed will change you in a bad way. Why dont you tell her she cant eat red meat anymore because its bad for her colon. Having said all that, good luck with your decision and dont let this female walk all over you.

    Man This sounds like you're facing Dave Chappelle's issues from that movie half -baked. Is her name Mary-Jane by any chance? I'm glad to have a sexy potheaded girlfriend, who loves to blaze :smoking:.

    I don't understand why kids have to quit smoking for a piece of ass. Just don't smoke around them. If you can't keep your cool, then don't be stoned around her. Simple. Only one rule, just don't get caught. :D
