Large greenhouse questions and concerns

  1. So i found a 4000 square foot greenhouse for sale for less than $1/ sq ft. the greenhouse comes with ventilation fans, HAF fans, and some other random accessories. i plan on growing heirloom tomatoes along with around 40 medical marijuana plants. my property is on 20 acres of farm land, and i will be installing the greenhouse near the center of the property. My USDA zone is 6b. my questions are:

    1) for smell, what can i do to prevent my neighbors from catching a whiff? The greenhouse will be about 200-250 yards from the closest neighbors, and my area is not densely populated. I will be planting aromatic flowers and herbs around the greenhouse and in my garden right next to it, but will that be enough to counter the smell? if not does anyone have experience with a ozone generator capable of that capacity?

    2) how many CFM should my exhaust fans pull? the one downside of the greenhouse i am getting is there is no roof ventilation, so what should i have to help accommodate this and maintain a reasonable temperature in my greenhouse? keep in mind that the hottest summer days can get to around 90 and humid (late july-early august).

    3) if needed, what would be the cheapest cooling method? i can likely get misters for cheap with the structure, but would they be safe to use on my buds?

    4) How tall can i plan on the plants getting? i am just starting most of the seeds but i have about 10 that are 1.5 months old i am just waiting to put in the GH. i realize strain determines this but the ones vegging now are indica dominant and i am just worried about them getting to tall. if it will be an issue i can easily set up a light dep system.

    5) what are some other common issues you other greenhouse growers have experienced in the past? Also, what has worked well for you?

Thanks in advanced and let me know if i left any pertinent information out of my post!

  2. ventilation. . .
FarmTek - Hydroponic Fodder Systems, Farming & Growing Supplies, Hoop Barns, Poultry & Livestock Equipment, High Tunnels, Greenhouses & More
(warning. . . farmtek is a good greenhouse accessory supplier, but most of their round tube tunnel designs are crap. they have 5 piece bows that tek screw together. through time the tek screws egg out and the whole structure loosens up. not good in a wind sheer ; )

    consider rollup/drop down sides.

best cooling option is shade cloth, 30% or more, covering all or part of the structure.

build it up. 12' is ok. 14 or better is best (and tricky to do)

smell. . . are you in a med/legal state? screw your neighbors. otherwise plant a lot of basil????

At that range ypu should be OK, if there is a complaint, position ur compost facility in between

cash to spare ??? ..call in a tech specialist or better relocate outdoors during this period?

I've used Neem Oil(cold pressed) for years, good against mold and bugs, mix it to ur spray

Size in my part of the world is more related to Veg Time than strain, a plant vegging for 8 months in 300 liters of soil now 12 feet, compares to the same strain with just one month veg at 3 feet high( is me)

A light deprived room is a must..if growing the profitable photogenic plants over autos

    good luck

  4. air flow is key

  5. Nobody mentioned theft? Get a couple of mean ass pit bulls to guard that greenhouse..
