Ok so I was renting a room in this cunts house. I signed a 6 month lease and gave her $575 security deposit. The deposit was for if I left and didn't give a 30 day notice and also if I damaged the room. I was there for 3 months when she found out I got arrested for drunk in public and I guess she got freaked out and she told me I had to leave in 3 days tops. I told her you're fucking insane. You have to give me a 30 day notice. So she went to the courthouse and gave me a 30 day eviction notice and she doesn't want to give me my deposit back... I took pictures of the room showing there's no damage and I've saved every text message she has sent me... My dad said call the public defender but my friend said you have to pay to take her to civil court and by the time I do all that bullshit I would have spent over $575. I'm fucking Pissed that this bitch is doing this. What the fuck could I do? I fucking hate landlords
Also the room is mine until 9/11 but i left bcuz I felt very uncomfortable and was worried she would call the cops and make up shit like I threatened her just to get me out... Legally I could show up tonight and be like bitch I'm moving back in. The 30 day notice isn't up.
if you owe her anything pay her now. call a lawyer of public defender and immediately begin preparing your case. show the judge your side, appear as professional as possible, and if your story is logical and your right im pretty confident youll get that deposit back. she has to file with the state anyway a reason for keeping the deposit
I don't owe her anything. She owes me my fucking money back but I'm not about to spend more money taking her fat ass to court just to get the money back that she owes me. Fuck this bitch needs to die.

The law is clearly on your side. File for wrongful eviction, also include court cost. If you file in small claims court she nor you can bring a lawyer with you but you can consult one. The thing about small claims is that the judge has more flexibility in how he applies the law. Not ignoring the law at all, but the situation plays an important part. I would send her a text or letter as too why you vacated early. Also, if she rents to someone else before the 30 days are up you can re-coop those days of rent.
I am going to say this then get away from this conversation. You can either take my advice or not, it won't hurt my feelings either way. I own 2 rentals in AZ. I am not sure where you are so this may not apply to you. You have a 6 month lease. Unless you have violated the lease somehow she can not get a court order to evict you. She has to wait the lease out. Even if you violated the lease she can't keep the deposit unless you caused damage or expense. If she has gotten a court order you can take her to small claims court for the deposit. Most states make you go through a mediator first and he will do everything he can to keep you out of court. The courts are full. In AZ she has to give you an accounting of what she has done with your deposit withing 14 days of your end or rental period (that would be 14 days from Sept 11 when you have to move out). In AZ if she doesn't do this you can sue her for 3X the amount she owes you. The accounting can be sent to your last known address unless you can prove she has your forwarding address. (text her your new address and when she answers then she is aware of it. Until after the 14 days there is not a court int he world that will file any papers. She has not kept your deposit, she just has not returned it to you yet as per (AZ) law. Check you states rental laws online at your states .gov site. Probably called the Fair Housing Act or The Landlord Tenant Act (AZ). Also, on your final move out day, Sept 11 is a Tuesday, go by and give the key back. Take pictures of the room and have a check list printed (on your computer or something, not hand written) that goes over holes in the walls, broken windows, carpets and things like that. Make her sign that each thing is in the same order it was 3 months ago when you moved in. If she won't sign anything just take the pictures. If you have to go to a moderator or anything take either the signed sheet or pictures with you. When you move it is a good idea to take pictures and have a check list when you move in and one when you move out. I do it with my rentals and so far they have stood up in mediation. She has to show a LEGAL reason she is keeping the deposit. She can't keep if because you have made her made or inconvenienced her. It can only be used for repairs and cleaning. If she has already cleaned your room she can not charge you for that as it was your room still. In some states you can actually have her charged with trespassing. This should all work out. Small claims court is $35 here and then $12 more to have the court send the service as proof(AZ). If you win you can also make her pay your fees. In small claims court you can NOT use an attorney. You may even be able to get her to pay for you moving cost and any difference in rent for the last 3 months of your lease. Don't bank on that but maybe. Here is AZ if I break a tenant lease I have to pay their moving expense and any difference in rent for the remainder of their lease term. Then if you want to be a dick stash a little something someplace and in a month call the cops. A nice raid will put her in her place. Good luck with it all.

pretty sure he said he rented a room in a house. Don't really need a lic for that. And fucking her shit up will not only get you arrested but it will get you sued for the damages above your deposit. Only children act that way.
that right there is the best advise you are gona get. I had a landlord that was trying to fuck me out of my deposit for some bullshit reason i don't remember cuz its been a few years ago now. but anyway i got the check for my deposit back and it was like 100 instead of the 400 or so it should have been. I mailed them back the check and a note explaining that they were charging me for things they legally couldn't and included a copy of my states Fair Housing Act. I went to the office 2 days later just to make sure they got everything and it was all worked out needless to say she was fucking furious....but i got a check for my full deposit back. and i reported her to any agency that would listen.
Also, report her to as many agencies as you can. Let's see how well she attracts tenants if she's on every landlord blacklist in existence.
