Ky Licenses and Regulations?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Business and Industry' started by kookyburro, Oct 8, 2022.

  1. Anyone intimately familiar with Kentucky's laws on licenses and regulations for running a business based on Delta 8 thc products?

I am investigating what starting a business that distributes and also produces D8 products would require.

Ideally the company would say buy bulk D8, sell some as concentrate, but also make the vape juice for carts, put it in the carts, and sell them, and also make things like gummies.

If anyone could help that would be great. I've sent lots of emails to the proper place in regards to such questions to the proper government resources in KY, but have got not one reply

  2. Sounds risky. What if Kentucky legalizes just as your business gets off the ground? Who would want a second rate product like delta 8 when you can get delta 9? But no guts no glory, so go for it. Go tour a successful delta 8 company and learn why they are successful. Talk to the previous heads of failed companies and find out why they failed. Then see a good lawyer and a banker with a gambling problem. If you're going to invest millions, do your research.

  3. You're misunderstanding me. I don't want to be the one to make the delta 8. You can buy a kilo of D8 concentrate for about 1k. I was thinking of making a company that basically sells concentrate that is bought in bulk and sold in small amounts, typically business, and also produce things like carts and edibles with the bought D8.

The license is at most 3k, as per the ky, that is the most expensive licenses afaik. Then the d8, then carts, which are cheap in bulk. The highest cost will be where this is all done, as one would likely have to rent some sort of space to do so, doubt one can use their home. Then the labor of filling the carts, shipping them, etc.

So it's not as ridiculously expensive as you make it out to be, but I feel like I am obviously missing something

  4. And I've lived in ky my whole life. The people want it legalized, as a majority, imo, but the politicians do not at all . Imo, if Republicans win back the house, which there is a good chance of that, then any chances of federal legalization is dead. And ky only has legislation to medicalize just now, and it still has to pass (unlikely imo) but even if it does, D8 will still have a place, and medicalization won't take place for another 2 years. So it's not that bad of a gamble
