As an experienced grower myself I'm always looking for new things to try, especially for resin production and flavor. I've been growing the same strain for about three years and am very familiar with it. This grow I was looking for something different and I found it using unsweetened Koolaid. The plants are in their final stages of flowering and I've been giving them a lot of koolaid, just trying to add some difference to the final product, basically for taste. What happens is first the color of the weed changes from dark healty looking green to a much paler lighter green and then onto yellow. Seems to help with resin production, as the buds are covered with crystals, moreso than my last couple of grows. I suggest koolaid in the very last couple of weeks 'cause it throws the plants into maturity really quick, and what you see are very impressive looking plants, light green to yellow buds covered in sugar, very beautiful to look at to say the least. Serious growers will appreciate this abuse, try it, you'll like it. As far as taste, well I'll have to let you all know in about a month. As always, Happy Growing
i think i r4ead that this doesnt work, its not like the plant is acually sucking up the coolaid, and storing it, its ust sucking up any nutrients it can get from it. if i were you i would have only tried it on a few plants.
The buds are oozing tons of resin as the koolaid really stresses the plants. Actually they are doing pretty dam good, even though all the chlorophil in the leaves is diminishing at a good rate. Plants are now pale lime green/yellow, dam good looking weed with a sugar coating. Yup, I did all my plants too! So I'm fuckin crazy, shoot me!!
I found the best way to flavor your but is to put some in a mason jar (cured or before, either or) and tape a cotton ball or something soaked in your favorite concentrated flavor (orange, lemon, vanilla, whatever) to the inside of the lid. Let it sit for a good week in the fridge or wherever.......smoke it up Vanilla and lemon are great!
devilred: so you just put some bud in a jar and put that cotton ball in there? would you have to keep it in the fridge?
its simple just soak the cotton ball in the flavor you like from the grocery store. Tape the ball to the lid or side or whatever so its not on your bud directly touching. Prob not a good idea to smoke the liquid. No it won't mold, its only a week or so, and the cool fridg prob helps avoid that. Since the bud is basically dry it will pull moisture from the cotton ball with the flavor on it.
don't even need to put it on a cotton ball, as long as theres sum vanilla (or w/e) and sum weed, and the weeds not sitting in the vanilla (or w/e) then it will cure it, and yea its tastes and smells really nice...
