When is it time to give up? I germenated some seeds using the paper towel method and once they were germinated I put them into 1" rockwool cubes. That was 8 days ago. I still have no signs of growth, but I am waiting patiently. When can I assume there not gonna grow? another 3 days or so? I just have a hunch these ones arnt gonna root.
were the tap roots showing when you placed them in the cubes? have u had the cubes to damp? it may b that. but i wudda thought thed be up by now if they had already cracked the shell. when i plant i siak in nitrozyme 5ml/litre for 24 hours and even if they havnt cracked open after planting there up within 12-72 hours. sounds a bit like they aint gonna pop up to me. try digging into 1 at the spot u planted and take a peek, see if all looks healthy. hope this helps
Huh... That's odd... Are you sure they popped before you put 'em in the rockwool? You can try crackin a few open to see if anything's happenin... But I agree... It doesn't sound like your beans are poppin.
If you have more seeds then id say start over Make sure you soak the cubes befor you put the seeds in!
Yes I soad the rockwool in water overnight in water with a PH of 5.2 prior to puttin my seeds in them, and yes they were cracked and starting to grow. I started some new ones... we'll see how that goes. Thanks
Best of growing then and I never worry about ph with seedlings,my advice use peat pellets all the nutes are already there saves mishaps,Did you use just plain water then adjust the ph??
Why not try soil? Those bricks you use need such a complex system of watering and nutes. Just try it the easier way, learn from soil first before you use rockwool. Just my two cents....
