kinda clone question

  1. since MJ can be cloned like trees can, can they also be spliced on the same stem? so like a tree can be grafted onto another tree, could you graft 2 MJ plants together, and if you can then is there any difference in the outcome of the plant other than producing 2 kinds of buds, if even that?

i only thoguth about this cuz i was high but im not totally sure if it could work or not...and i dunno if someone would want to try with good plants lol.

  2. I've never heard of anyone doing it before, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. I think the main detractor would be that the whole point of cloning is to have conformity of plants, and to speed up the process. Not sure how splicing onto an existing plant would help in any way at all.

  3. As mentioned, the whole point of cloning is to keep the same strain and plant genetics. However, I'm sure under the right conditions, and with a little know-how, you'd probably be able to pull something off. If so, you absolutely must get some good pics- I'm sure GC would love to see something like that.

If it's not possible, it was definitely a good thought!

  4. ya i think its more of a benefit for perenial plants (apple and orange trees and such), while MJ is annual i think... but MJ can be made to be perenial, by use of artificial lighting correct? so if you can do this kind of grafting, it would benefit a mother plant to bear 2 kinds of strains maybe? (since fruit trees that have this done will be able to bear 2 kinds of fruit from one plant) im not sure, if not beneficial in any way still a good experiment lol. i would like to try it if only i had the clones.

  5. ok apparently it works with MJ to MJ, but im still not sure if a mother plant will produce more than its original one straing i believe it will... still not 100% on this.
