Kind of scared to wire the ballast/hood

  1. 1000 watts is alot of energy for someone who doesn't know anything about wiring! Instructions are not great and says it should be installed by an electrician.

Have a lumatek air cooled dimmable ballast and a 24 inch Cool Star air cooled hood.

    And here's the wire...

So I'm pretty sure I know what has to be done I'm just kind of afraid to do it without confirming. The cord has the white and black wire which go into the respective holes in the junction box, and the green one is to be grounded by the green screw (which means I just put the exposed part of the green wire under the screw and tighten it?).

I've been looking for videos and instructions on the internet but have not found anything...really don't want to mess this up and ruin the equipment or kill myself.

  2. To easy man. Wire them to there respective terminals and screw the caps on.

Ground the green wire on the screw.

If your afraid. Have it all away from you when you switch that puppy on and see that beast light up.

  3. Thanks, going to give it a whirl! :D

  4. Sweet. Let us know how you went man.

  5. ZZZZZZZTT!

    He's gone. Oh well...

  6. Main thing is he tried I guess.

  7. LOL! All worked well, now to finish mylaring and venting the grow room. Have 17 eight day old seedlings under eight 26w 6500k CFLs (overwatered them, oops!) which I'll be putting under 3000 watts (two MH bulbs and one HPS bulb) to start, going to clone and switch to 1000w veg room (MH) and 2000w flower room (HPS). Might be a bit over my head for my first indoor grow but I will be posting a grow journal once they are under the HID lights and hopfully some experienced growers will be able to help me along the way.

  8. W#ow Jumping full in I like it.

  9. All or nothing. Problems keep arising as expected...have one HID light up and it keeps tripping the breaker, so I need to draw power from two other rooms for the entire setup:hide:
