for seedlings leave the water low but keep the seedlings moist 1 cup of pure water each day until the roots grow the water will drain into the res
I dunno anything about hydro but I do the same with mine in soil. I germ them in a solo cup that is placed in the lid of a storage bin. All the water runs right out the bottom so no chance of drowning the seed. I only watered every other day because I use soil though. 100% germ rate.
