Keeping Tolerance Low?

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by LieutenantDank, Dec 17, 2006.

  1. Besides smoking less and/or taking breaks, is there any way to keep my tolerance relatively low? I'm looking for anything that would help. I'm sick of smoking what I want, and after a month not really getting high for long.

  2. No binge smoking. Only smoke enough to get you high.

    also..
Multiple strains keep me from ever worrying about tolerance. If i start building one up, i just switch to a different kind of bud and the problem's solved.

there are certain strains out there that do posess the "no tolerance" quality, too. Find one of them! :)

  3. colonel, its not like every different kind of weed is a different drug, if you normaly drink jack daniels and you can drink a 26 and not puke, you arent gonna puke from drinking one beer because you have JD tolerence not beer tolerence.

Only smoke enough to get high, try to limit smoking to once every 3-4 days or once a week if you can. and dont smoke joints or blunts they waste the most weed because there is smoke that comes off it that you don't inhale.

  4. man if you have like 3-5 people in a circle smoking a blunt hardly ANY weed is wasted.

If you know how to roll a good blunt you will waste VERY minimal weed with a blunt and get higher than hell.

but as for the tolerance man.. theres nothing you can do. You just have to smoke less, and in smaller quantities. Thats why im so lucky... I smoke a half o a day and im not going to be running out anytime soon.

  5. what? i am not sure what you're trying to say here. i fail to see what puking from beer has to do with smoking ganja.

Edit: i'm really really high right now. heh, actually from mixing some pure sativa and pure indca in my grinder for the wakenbake, so forive me if i've missed the point. :)

  6. Yeah i dont see what the deal is beers and weed? Speaking of beeers and weed last night i had some of both and made a really cool gravity bong out of a jones bottle and this ssmall pretty cool glass vase, so im gonna go test it out.

  7. There are several different chemicals in marijuana that determine the type of high, other than just CBD and THC. If you smoke a lot of one strain, then you build up a tolerance to those levels of chemicals in that particular strain. Switching to a different bud is exposes your brain to different chemicals, therefor colonel is right by saying that switching strains often keeps your tolerance low.

Those are just the main components that are typically measured in the lab. There are thousands of others that are either unknown or just posess fewer "effect giving" properties, so as you can see, theres practically an infinite combonation of effects that can be achieved by switching strains. If you have the resources to support this style of managing tolerance, its the best way to go IMHO. :)

  9. i hope someday we can single out those properties and have strains for exact purposes medicine wise. gimme a blunt of that pulegone before finals lol

  10. Its getting there, slowly but surely.

Aids and Cancer patients use strains that give hardcore munchies and posess the right pain releivers.

People with inflammatory diseases (like me) use certain strains that relax muscles, and relieve cramping and other pains.

Those who suffer from anxiety have strains that posess anti-anxiety properties.

The main obstacle in the way of progress here is the legal aspect. The second obstacle is the subjectivity of the effects. The same strain may (and probably will) affect different people in different ways.

With all that said, we're making progress slowly. There is so much to learn about this amazing plant.

  11. Blunts do waste more weed no matter how many ppl are in the circle. The blunt is constantly burning so there is always going to be some wasted weed.

  12. as does a cherried bowl or a joint, but both are exuding second hand smoke with uninhaled THC so i guess if you dont wanna waste it just have someone sit with you and catch the contact, or get a vaporizer and start talking about tolerance breaks with us :hello:

  13. blunts waste smoke but man they get me soo high i cant complain. hopefully though one day, the right bud for the right condition will exist. that way we can give cancer patients exactly whats going to help them feel better.

  14. Thanks for that chart i have been looking for exactly this thing for years. I OVer Agree with the colonel from personal experience. 4 sho tha switch will do it.
but how can u go without smoking tho? i can barely stop for half a day.
