Keeping smoke in the bottom.

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by denalii, Sep 14, 2012.

  1. I'm not really new to smoking, but I've never been able to keep the smoke at the bottom of the bong like other people I have seen do.
I got told rip softly, but my friend rips really hard and does it... And he doesn't know how he does it...
Anyone help me here? I was told it's easier to rip as there is less smoke in your lungs.
    :smoke:

  2. Why would you want to? That'll just make the smoke more stale and harsh.

  3. doesnt matter how hard you rip at the end. just milk the smoke slowly and let it build

  4. That is called Milking the bong, generally, I personally don't like doing it because I find it wastes the smoke and makes it taste really stale, Just take the size of a hit you can handle.

When milking you just gotta keep a steady kinda slow pace, it has a lot to do with the diffusion the bong/downstem offers, Different type of diffusion and percolation will make the way you milk it/hit it vary.

  5. Thanks for the help guys :)

  6. No problem mate, glad I could be of help.
I should have stated that, the better/smoother the diffusion, the easier it is to milk a bong, if the bongs downstem is only a single hole at the end, it can be kind of hard to build up the smoke as you have to pull harder.
