keeping seeds

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by ccgfan, Nov 12, 2006.

  1. How long do seeds stay for? I have about 20 seeds, but only want to grow one at a time because I don't have a very large grow space. If i keep them in a dark, dry environment, would that be fine? or should I keep them in the fridge? And again, how long do they stay good.

  2. Keep your seeds in a pill bottle, in like a drawer, or even the freezer. They will last you a long time.

  3. i keep my beans swimming in a container of whole uncooked rice. fill the container half way with the rice, make a little divot in the rice with your finger and put the seeds in. fill the container the rest of the way up and put the lid on. keep the container in a cool dry and dark place. i wouldn't keep them in a fridge or freezer. you've seen what the freezer does to food after it's been in there a while, right??? seeds can stay viable for years.

  4. What do you think seeds do over winter? Build a cabin and keep warm by the fire? I like the idea of rice in with the seeds, although I feel bad for the guy who cooked up some rice, and forgot his dope seeds were in there. Hahaha

  5. how long do seeds stay for?lol.... like there packin up there suitcases n shit, haha but for real seeds r vial for a long time keep them in your house n they can last forever untill u break the bean

  6. the rice is there to absorb any moisture.

  7. Bottom of the fridge (veg chamber) is fine.
    No freezing.

  8. I had a bunch of bag seeds that I used for my first grow, some of them over 2 years old or older that were just kept in a plastic bag that sprouted. Seeds are strong.
