Just Transplanted & Worried about SHOCK!!!

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by dedown, Aug 28, 2012.

  1. Hello All,

This is a Blue Widow seed that I got and is 15 days old from sprout. I started the seed out in a solo cup and transplanted earlier today to an air pot. As you can see from the pictures it was vibrant, and when I put it in the new pot it's now all droopy. What should I be looking for etc? Or am I just worrying about nothing? Any input would be appreciated!

  2. Another question that I have is should I turn the 400 watt cfl on now, or should I keep it under 3 little lights still for a couple more days?

  3. The light you have on her seems sufficient.

It looks like you rushed that transplant a bit. Has she put out three leaf sets, or just two? Once the third true leaf set is out, the seedling stage of growth is complete and you are into vegetative growth.

I usually wait until I have 4 leaf sets before transplanting. When they are really young, just about anything can do them in. I've always had a special talent for killing seedlings.

Just leave her be. A gentle breeze from a fan is good. If the fan seems too strong at the lowest setting, move it further away or bounce it off a wall or something along those lines.

    Good luck.

  4. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I will just watch her closely and leave her alone for the next couple of days.

  5. You would have just shocked the roots and will take time for plant to pick up again, I suggest put it under the light ASAP and it should be fine

  6. Did you water it after transplanting?

when transplanting out of a disposable container the shock should be close to zero. unless it has big ripples in the side. don't ask.

yeah, i figure there's no point in giving them extra soil until you're reasonably sure they'll live long enough to need it.

  9. Well I hope it doesn't croak on me. I will take a pic later so you can see its progress, I think that it took well personally!

  10. She's probably going to be fine. She may just be a bit bloated with water.

It's amazing how much worry a tiny plant can engender, isn't it?

  11. Very amazing how something so small has such a huge impact on my life right now. I'm literally anticipating getting home tonight to check on her.

  12. Wow... I not only think that the transplant went well I think that it went GREAT because she has gotten bigger!

    Thanks Alatar!

  17. Transplanting my two ladies tomorrow from solo cups to 5 gallons. I ALWAYS water after transplanting with 1/4 dose veg base( I use the full GO line) and some root booster. Loaded with vitamin B I've never lost a plant due to transplant shock. Knock on wood

  18. I just recently transplanted 3 two week old plants from one container to their own seperate pots. Scary, ugly... but damnit they are already "over it" and growing nice again. Hardly any shock and I had to do some nasty root untangling.

Cannabis is tough - I think we worry too much :)

  19. I would definitely agree that we worry to much because my girl is flourishing!
