Just some thoughts.

  1. It's weird, but sometimes I think that smoking so much weed at such a young age (starting at 12 and smoking all the time) has definitely had some psychological effects on me.

Do you think smoking so much pot at such a young age, when you are undergoing some huge changes and developing, could effect you mentally?
My memory is terrible, far worse than it should be for someone 18-20. I lose stuff 24/7 because I set it down and completely forget about it. And I think way too much, and I am always lost in thought. I'll just randomly say "i dont know" out loud because I am thinking about a bunch of random stuff, etc.

    IDK, someone spread some light..

  2. I, too, started smoking pot at an early age, around the same time as you. In fact, I'd already gotten my first taste of weed even before puberty, and yes, I'm kind of like you.
Well, I have similar tendencies of forgetfulness and absent-mindedness. It was very bad. No, I take that back, it was ridiculous. A bit of the mental wandering that you explained too, not as severe though.
I've found that meditation has helped me quite a bit with getting my mind in order, I also take those Omega tablets or whatever they're called for concentration, it had helped me (still does) alot.
It's been about two years since I first started meditating and getting my life in order, it does feel like my brain has somewhat repaired itself from my early start with marijuana coupled with my teenage junkie days.
Cannabis is a plant that I respect so much, but it still classified as a drug nonetheless. It's not good for developing brains as I'm sure it fucks with the pathways and neurons among other shit; I'm a testament to marijuana overusage LOL.

  3. Definitely affected me mentally.

    But in a good way

My memory is okay, no signs of loss. :p Maybe you should put down the pipe if you feel it's a problem.

  4. I've read studies on marijuana use in developing adolescents. I think the test subjects were about age 15 or so, and there was a strong implication that there were negative long-term consequences.

I've only been smoking it since the age of 19 or 20 to present day. I have always had a poor short term memory, but even I've noticed it getting foggier. That having been said, my long term memory has not been effected.

In the past 2 months I've had to memorize, word for word, a small book 7-8pages in length which came along fairly easy with some hefty studying. But you ask me what show we were watching on tv when a commercial comes on and I might look at you with a blank stare for several seconds.

It does make sense to me that continued usage in developing teens may fuck things up as chemical make up and hormones are still in the stages of getting everything balanced out.

I'm no fucking scientist though. :-/

  5. It's not that you're losing your memory. It's that weed is giving you so much thought that you gotta keep up or else you'll get lost haha.

  6. Lol. Thanks for your insights. And about my memory: I don't really remember anything from before the age of 12. Maybe small little glimpses into the past, but thats it.

Actually now that i think of it I cant really remember much from before i started smoking at all lol.

I dont feel that it is a problem i need to solve by abstaining from pot though.
