Apparently, my account was previously deleted... Something. I don't know. Anyway, I'd posted here before. Ordered some WWxBB from across the pond. So, this is round two. And the first seedling has just come up through the dirt. I've got two WWxBB, two random nugs, and one schwag all in red Solo cups. I doubt anything besides the WWxBB will pop dirt. For some reason, my old seeds just weren't cutting it. Not a one of them grew. Anyway, they're under an Aerogarden (26w) for right now. At what point do I switch them over to the 400w halide? They're about a foot from the light right now. I believe I've got a sheet of paper that tells me to keep the halide between 5 and 15 inches from the plants for optimal light, as long as it's in a cool tube and not burning the plants and whantot.

I'd switch em over in a week or two. They don't need 400 watts yet. Then keep light about a foot above them as long as the heat isn't too much. (If u can't hold ur hand for a ten count at the same distance from the light as the plants, it's too close) Have u tried germinating your seeds in moist paper towels and plopping them into the soil once the roots show? Works well for me
Dude, I've tried every germination technique that I could think of. Paper towel. In the dirt. In water. Starter pods. Even directly placed in a chicken turd. Nothing makes these bag seeds germinate. In the long run, I think the seeds were just too old, or not stored properly. About two years old, and they were stored in an air-tight pear jar in a dark place at just about room temperature. So, I really don't know what happened with them. It is what it is though. I wouldn't have known the genetics behind the plants if they had grown, so I'm not too bummed about it. Actually, just over the course of the last few hours, the second WWxBB seed popped up through the dirt. So, I'm a happy camper. Just need to make sure that I'm dialed in for what to do with the next step.
So, I've got one vote for a week to two weeks under the 26w, and then switching them over to the 400w. I'd probably run it at 50% for a day, then 75%, then 100% just to acclimate it a little. Also have to test the friggin' pH of my water. I don't know why I've been so lazy about that. It's day 4 under the Aerogarden. Soil is cool, mostly dry. Probably water tomorrow. Probably try and run 2 weeks under the Aero. Got my neem oil, got my cal-mag, got Ionic Growth and Bloom, got a calender to track stuff. Got my pH and ppm meter. I feel like I've got the tools to get this done if I can get by with some help from my friends.
