I'm waaay excited lol After toking from a MFLB for a long time and completely embracing the eliteness of vaping, I finally decided to step up and get a "big people's" vaporizer There is no way I will drop $500 on a volcano (though I really want one). I've read several reviews and concluded it's probably the best vaporizer out there, but it's just too much money. In spite the fact I never buy something without thinking about it for a long time... So I researched a lot and finally found a replacement. My brand new DBV should be shipping soon. I'm not sure if someone has done it before (probably has...) but I'll take some pictures, maybe even a video, and make a short review so that if anyone else is thinking about getting one, then you will have access to current, good information on the vaporizer. Cheers
I own a DBV. It's been great so far. Be sure to treat it with care and it will pay for itself withouth doubt. Typically it takes about 2 bowls per person if your a seasoned toker to get ripped. Each bowl pack is about .25g's. Don't fill up the bowl to much, DO NOT BLOW BACK INTO THE HOSE. If you or someone else does coughs back into it, the herb gets pushed into the heated area and burns. It smells like shit and ruins the bowl pack... sometimes the plastic tubing gets weird smelling too. Optimal heating is at about 12:30-1:30pm on the heating dial. I'd start lower than high and find a sweet spot for you. Be sure to let it heat on high for 10 minutes prior to using it the first time. Also, don't forget to stir the herb after every few tokes, it really makes a difference if your trying to conserve your bud. enjoy your vape bro, let me know if you got questions
my dbv works wonders. it was a good choice the only drawback is the no screen protecting the heating element. but other then that it works amazingly.
$188 Crazy huh? Dood, thank you so much for the info. I was actually wondering about the temperature and other care tips. I'm usually really good with taking care of my smal-shitz I'll probably be a little anal about it So two small bowls will get you ripped? Because it takes me two small bowls to trip out on my MFLB. I guess it would be almost the same, except the vaporizer is even more elite What's the problem with the screen? PS. For those who already own a DBV, have you tried vaping salvia? (I'm hopping this is not apology to other drugs, which is against the rules, since salvia isn't actually an "illegal" drug)
The heating element is exposed. so if you cough or accidently exhale into the wand weed goes all in and smells TERRIBLE lol.
the DBV is a great vape. don't make the two rookie mistakes though: packing too much and starting too high. 0.1g is more than enough to get blazedddd. 1 bowl lasts like half an hour atleast if its just me vaping
I've never vaped salvia. I don't really fuck with it much other than the one time i hit 40x with grav. bong. I imagine it would work pretty well. There isn't a problem with the screen. He's talking about the same issue I was, which is blowing back into the hose which blows the herb back into the heating element. Each bowl back relays on your sucking in the hot air from the heating element by the herb of choice. When the herb gets to a certain degree it melts the thc into vapor which you inhale. When you blow back air into the hose there is not a screen on the other side of the one holding the bud in place. So the bud shoots back into the heating element and burns. The burnt bud hits very harsh and it makes most people gag. I'm not a bitch when it comes to toking, but after my friend blew back the herb into the heating element for the first time, there was no way to salvage the remaining bowl. It smelt and tasted disgusting. It's easy to explain to people before starting your smoke sesh that if they have to cough, do not blow back into the hose. Same idea as a bong. If you cough back into it, shit is gonna get fucked up. It's a good idea to order some spare screens too. They're pretty cheap and last a long time if you clean them regularly with the rest of the vape equipment. sea salt and rubbing alcohol can clean any residue you might encounter. edit: another key point the person above me mentioned. do not over fill the wand. 1/3 to 1/2 full is good enough. The DBV comes with a handy marble pick, be sure to keep track of it. It's a very easy thing to lose after you get baked some of my best memories comes from vaping kief with my girlfriend... which usually leads to animalistic sex. the best part of vaping is you don't smell like your blazed as fuck if you have to go somewhere that isn't weed friendly. ie, school, work, family gatherings (with family cops) hehe
Nice. I've had my dbv for over a year and it's still going strong with no issues. I love it too. Once you find the perfect temp setting it hits amazing. One big thing to remember is that the speed at which you pull when taking a hit has a big impact on how it will vape. For instance, if you pull really lightly you will get a bigger hit but that's because it is burning the bud more. If you pull faster, it will not cash it out as fast... just something to keep in mind.
maybe im stoned but i never go past 12:00 on mine. start at 10-10:30 usually kill it at 11:30, i know every model is different.. congrats OP youll love it! i got mine at good price too and love it!!
I feel bad because on ebay you could have received a blemished Silver Surfer for $206 shipped. Da Buddha is a great vape but if you had a choice the silver surfer is a better vape in some aspects.
not really. if you didnt get the handsfree attachment of the gong attachment. as you have to hold the wand onto the element. and the ONLY thing that is different in you get a little bit of custom glass and custom choices on your ssv. other then that is the SAME heating element and vape procedure
I personally think the heating element on the silver surfer makes the vape MUCH better than the DBV just because it's pretty much impossible to get the vape dirty.
