I'm about half way through my first grow and already learn't more then i did with the months of reading before i started!
My current grow is in soil with CFLs, bagseed and Advanced Nutrients 'PH perfect' 3 part nutes.
Its in a diy stealth cab which is 13x13x30" and lighting was 12/12 from seed. (Link in sig to cab)
A couple have just started to flower this week!

I'm already been planning my next grow and heard that sip pots had much faster growth rates than a regular grow as well as supposedly being noob proof... Both of which sound very promising as the winning choice for my next grow!
I was thinking about using 2litre soda bottles for sip pots as i'm bordeline micro grow size, but with extra height to let them veg more...

So onto the 20 questions lol!

Just how noob proof is this method?

If the soil will be damp all the time, how does this effect the plants?
(Its been hammered home LET THE SOIL DRY OUT!! lol)

Is it really faster/bigger growth or just comparable?

Would 2litre pop bottles be ok?
(I made a prototype and it holds almost the same amount of soil as x2 6" pots do, which is about 2.5x my current soil per plant)

Do i just fill reservoir with only PH'd water and feed like normal from the top?
(I dont really want to spend extra money on hydro nutes when i still have a couple of years supply of AN)

If they are that good for noob, intermediate and pro alike... Why aren't more people talking about them?

Whilst i have seen lots of sip being mentioned, i haven't seen any guides or how to's on the forum, if there are any good ones that anyone knows of, would anyone be able to point me to them please?

And one final unrelated question, just because i remembered!....
I have a 400w HPS unit... Any thoughts if i could fit that in my cab safely without turning the cab into a blast furnace?

  2. Ahh, thanks dude!
Ill get stuck into that thread, looks like i will be curing my current grow before i get to the end lol!

Hmm, not so squared away with the whole organic compost making, Not sure if i'll ever get that far either (other than buying a bag of organic compost)

Does that mean its probably not going to be the best way to go, or just the benifits will be canceld out by being non organic?

  3. Not if you want your soil to dry out, but that kills the beneficial bacteria in organic soil.
