The donor said it was 5 months old. How longer until it is done to cut off? I'm new to this so I'm not sure when it will be good to go
Thanks . Yeah it looks nice I was talking to this very nice person in the club and he was telling me his background for a good while, and he told me if i would like a plant. I said sure, I was expecting a 2 week old plant instead I got this How will I know though? What am I suppose to see deep deep inside the plant that will tell me it's ready?

take a jewlers scope or mag glass and examine the hairs. when they are around 50% amber in color, meaning half of the hair is not white anymore, then they are ready to pick. the buds will be at its highest THC content during this time. But if you want a higher CBD content, let it go a little longer. Its Really about what you want to do.
Wait till most of the hairs have turned color and have receded inside the bud! Also a good sign is if the trichomes look like their gunna explode!

My biology teacher said that if I did this the plants will "defend" itself which would make the buds bigger and better
Well, there is such a thing called lolly-popping. Which is removing the lower third of leaves and sucker branches to promote big cola(main bud) growth. But it also causes stress to the plant, so I would advise against it since it might cause her to hermie( grow male flowers aka make your weed grow seeds) She looks like she needs 2 more weeks then maybe you could harvest. Just check the hairs and look at the trichomes(crystals) once every couple of days!
Ask the guy who gave it to you how long its been in flower an what strain it is then i could give you a good time when to chop

I hope it is 2 weeks I can't wait to smoke this, it smells so damn good and from far away ) I wish I could of cloned it though :/

Okay so I texted him and he said its been around 30 days of flowering and the bud he said its some type of Cush. So pretty much the bud is unknown :/
