  1. well i was toking in my room last night like i do most nights, i've done this many many nights and got away with it fine. except this time my dad decided to come in this night, which is very rare at night because theyre usually asleep. anyway he comes in and is like "wow there is a strong smell in here... have you been smoking? smells like wacky backy" (yes my parents call weed wacky backy). i also had my coat in front of the door to help stop the smell going out so he also questioned why the hell the coat was there. anyway i denied it all and he just looked at me weird and left.

so this morning i go downstairs expecting to get lectured or at least asked about it, but nothing is mentioned. it was 100% totally obvious i was smoking bud in my room, yet he's completely turning a blind eye to it. i'm really greatful but kind of confused. why the hell hasn't he mentioned it?! i wonder if he used to toke. (i doubt it, he was in the RAF most of his life)

  2. i wouldnt worry man, when i used to live with my folks i would smoke bong all night in my room, they'd say they smelt smoke quite regularly. I would always expect a lecture as well when i saw them. They probably suspect you smoke but theyd rather avoid an argument cause they realise smoking weed isnt that big a deal - same with my folks i think, either that or my folks were just dumb lol.

if your worried bout your room smelling, open a window, get a fan and maybe make a woofer to kill to smell of smoke with the cupboard bit of toilet roll and some Kleenex fragranced sheets - but i wouldnt worry bout it to much it sounds like your parents are pretty cool about it

  3. Use responsibly.

  4. Wacky Backy?

LOL. That made my day :)

Anyways, yeah, same thing with my mom. I was high as fuck one night and she was like staring at me (She used to smoke) and kept botherin me and shit, and was all mad at me and I knew she could tell cause she said "Why is your eyes red?" and "You look funny." And "How you feelin?" Just making it real uncomfortable.

    Morning came.

    NOTHING.

But that was a long time ago and lots has changed since then but still.

  5. I would say either a) your dad has something he's hiding from you... b) you will get the "lecture", but they'll wait til your not expecting it. c) your dad knows kids will be kids. For me, it was b. And at the worst possible time. I had just got done smoking, blown and then I heard it.. Lets just say, it can make you come down real fast. Your aiming for option a, but option c would be alright too. =) I just wouldnt smoke in the house anymore until you find out whats up from the parents.

  6. I really think you have nothing to worry about. I've been caught the same way 3 or 4 times now. This worst being that I just needed to smoke before going out with my mom ( I know bad idea) so I took to hits from my bowl and she walks in ready to go. I know the smoke wasn't even completely out of the room and the fan was facing the window. She said nothing I drove her to places she needed to do errands. The most of a talk I got was empty indirect warnings about me being kicked out. I just say continue to be careful but if he didn't yell at you that night he might not take the time later..

You shouldn't worry about things you can't control anyway

  7. thanks for the responses. my dad just asked if i wanted to go out soon, so i think if he's gunna say anything, he's gunna say it then. i'll post what happens! he doesn't seem angry in any way at least.

  8. my junior and senior year of high school was pretty much like this. My parents knew, yet didn't say anything about it. They didn't speak of me smoking until after I moved out. It's up to you if you want to talk about it to your dad. But if that was me in your shoes, I'd just pretend like nothing happened as well.

  9. honestly him and your mom prolly don't know what to do yet. It aint over til the fat lady sings my man

  10. alright just went out with my dad and it turns out he's like a huge anti-drug nut who knows nothing about marjiuana. he asked me about last night and told me he knew something was going on. well he told me how he thought no son of his would do drugs, and how all the people living on the street started off like me. *sigh*

i told him that it isn't a problem and that i'd like it if we did some research together so he knows more about it. he seemed pretty pissed. i knew this day would come though so i'm not too bothered! this sure is gunna be an awkward few days though.

  11. it was probably obvious before he even entered the room. im sure theres a vent in your room that blows air, but is there an intake duct as well? if so, the smell probably carried thru your intake vent as soon as you sparked up and blew right to your parents room. i suppose its possible even if you dont have an intake duct... if air isnt blowing thru the central ac then smoke could just carry thru there as well.

anyway, why else would he come in? and of course after he came in he knew and he played dumb, so id say he was imposing some sort of psy op on you, just trying to see how youd react to a confrontation. but who knows.

  12. I got the exact same responses from my dad/parents. The only positive thing that I took from my exprience was that at least they know what your habit is, what more can they do. (Besides call the police, but that seems a little extreme under the posted circumstances.) Just be sure to be very careful with your shit, cause now that they know, they could come snooping through your room when your not around. Just some words for thought. =) And of course, smoke on.. When it is an acceptable time. If I were you, I would at the very least douche the smoke, but its probably better that you take your habits somewhere else, or outside. The world really is a a different shade when its night. Things are strangely different but all the same. Its like magic.

  13. Maybe they don't recognize the smell of good pot :)

  14. my friends parents are like that....out of site out of mind

  15. Lol thats pretty chill i wish my parents would be like that. I get so paranoid having to open my window and smoke out of my mini bong by it.

And i loled when u said they say wacky backy, i mean i have heard of that song by NRBQ called wacky tobacky :p

  16. I can swear that the exact same thing happened with my mom!!!
She caught me, didnt seem pissed. The next day she gave me a lecture how it will fuck up my life. I printed her real facts about marijuana and how it doesnt fuck up anything and only has potential to give you a kickass brain. She said it was bullshit.
    Brainwashed people are brainwashed.

  17. Lol, my dad calls it 'wacky backy' as well  , i haven't been caught yet which is good because my parents are really anti - drug...

  18. well my dad spoke to me again and said how he's not ok with it, but he can't stop me and he doesn't want me doing it in the house.

i'm glad he's being open minded about it. :)

  19. Same thing sort of happens with my parents, I mean it's so obvious that they know I smoke bud, they say "I hope you're not going out to smoke anything illegal" but I never get lectured about it. :D

  20. My eyes get soooo red and glassy and my mom would give me the look and tell me honey your eyes are so red are you alright? And then she would lean in and hug me and take a big noticeable breath in through her nose. Snifffffffffff! And then say that I was high and lecture me, blah, blah, blah. Then my little brother (8) told me he left my bag in my coat pocket "Cause Mommy told me to put it back because you would get mad." - My half ounce I left in my jacket in the living room. I wondered why she didn't flush it, but then when I had kids, I didn't know if I wanted them smoking or not, but definately not until they were older, but I definitely knew I didn't want them doing harder drugs. So, when my daughter started smoking pot I told her conflicting opinions because I didn't know what to do. And now I understand the shock factor my Mom was going thru when she didn't talk to me about having half an O. She just didn't know what to do. OP I think your dad ran into the shock factor and had to think about it awhile before he knew what to say. No trying to psych you out, just trying to get his thoughts together.
