If all they caught you with was a joint (which im assuming had less than a gram in it) and your grinder ( which im assuming was empty) then you have nothing to worry about. My buddy got caught for about a gram less than intent to distribute (right around 9 grams here) and all he had was some fines and court supervision, which is essentially nothing. If its your first offense, just take the deferral program and get it off your record. Just be more careful smokin in the dorms man. ALSO, get a lockbox. At least here, cops need a separate warrant to search those even on campus. I have no idea what the laws are like where you live, but it can't hurt. I got one before i left for college, they arent too expensive.
dude i know how you feel man. The other night i was coming back from the casino with a bud. i dropped him off and i had my lights off. some chick stater pulled me over and smelled weed. i had to do a sobriety test, and then they took my weed. i got a misdemeanor. I'm not sure what to expect. i don't know if i need a lawyer cause i heard that in WA state if you get a possession charge you aren't eligible for financial aid anymore. What should I do? I can't afford a lawyer!! the shittiest part is that I'll be going to Vegas my first time in my life, and I have to go to court the day after I get back.

I was at some dorm place yesterday and it smelled like some dank, they must of not really cared there
