Just destroyed an anti-MJ argument

Discussion in 'Cannabis Legalization & Law Updates' started by musho3210, Feb 23, 2010.

  1. First one that I've done that actually used proof. Activism on this forum is great an all, but if it's done here its just preaching to the preached. I went to some other forum, found a discussion on the legalization of weed, and proceeded to lay down some scientific knowledge on weed in a way that didn't make me seem like a burnout looking for a high (stereotype) or some guy that quotes cheech and chong and anecdotal science. Sure its not perfect but I was quite pleased with my argument. It continues onto the next page where I added my final word on the subject.

If your interested, start reading at my first post (its on this page, same username).

I suggest everyone else do similar things on other forums, we need to broaden our arguments. Grasscity is a great place to discuss legalization topics, but its more important to change those who are still stuck in the dark.

  2. hahahaha nice

  3. awesome man! it's amazing to me how fiercely people hold on to lies handed to them by the government.

  8. conawaaay, were you stoned when you replied to Sky dude on the security forums, cuz I was thinkin you were trying to write a rap song or something... =) Of course, it all made sense, but it looked funny. LOL:smoking:

  9. Mad props for destroying the argument:smoking:

  10. Musho, can you post this on that forum? I don't feel like registering to it.

THC is physiologically and physically the least addicting substance. One reason for that is that tolerance goes down EXTREMELY fast. Even those who smoke multiple blunts who day who stop smoking for a week will feel much much higher than usual. That is because cannabinoid receptors do not reach a plateau as easily as many other drugs.

Take cocaine for instance. Even from my personal experience, cocaine tolerance goes up EXTREMELY fast. In one day from just two or three doses, a first time user of cocaine can go from feeling amazing to feeling absolutely nothing at all, and he or she may never feel that good like that first time unless abstained for many many days or weeks. This leads the user to do more and more cocaine to reach that feeling, which many call "chasing the dragon". This is because dopamine receptors become sensitized to dopamine far quicker than cannabinoid receptors do to THC. I've tried cocaine many times and I know that it quickly becomes a waste of time and money because the more you do it, the further you get from ever feeling anything. As far as cannabis, well I smoke once a day and I feel just as high as before, and that is great because that means I can continue to smoke a minimal amount and feel just as high as the last.

In that sense, there is no other drug like THC. It is safe, benign, and beautiful.

I quote from one of the previously anti mj (but pro legalization because of drug cartels) people on their forum:

"@musho3210: Okay, you convinced me it doesn't cause brain damage - at least not any irreversible damage. "

  12. Post links to Granny Stormcrow's list of links.

Everything you could possibly want is there.

  13. Just started reading but i couldnt help notice what this dumb ass had to say...

"Marijuana is addictive and there are harmful long-term effects.
I'm still voting yes, though - add a THC cap way below the current content and you'll get something less harmful than alcohol or tobacco at the very least. Apart from that it takes away the entry drug #1 and thus hurts organised crime (or at least a part of it)"

  14. Im going to give them the end of the debate. Theres no point in continuing when I throw out the big gun lol. I'm gonna (try to) copy and past the Granny Stormcrow argument onto the thread, if the posts get deleted, well that means at least one person saw the immense length. If it gets deleted (or wont go through) I'll just link them to the Grasscity thread.

Either way, whos gonna argue with about 5000 pro medical studies? :)

  16. Unfortunately, people are usually extremely arrogant about their political/ethical/religious etc. beliefs. It doesn't matter how good the argument is. I think it takes something radical happening in the person's own life to change their opinion.
