Just bought some bud

    Hey. I just bought some bud from a guy and when I got home I noticed it was actually still damp. When I dug my nail into it I could really feel alot of wetness. Im guessing the guy couldnt be bothered to dry and cure it properly just to get it sold and get his money. So.. I was wondering, since me and my girl spent good money on this, can we take it through the drying process and curing process from here ourselves and get our moneys worth. If so, will it end up being more strong a stone, more mellow and less harsh on the throat? And incase people are wondering why Im not just reading the drying and curing processes on websites... Its just incase I have to start from a certain point or something.... Im a noob. I only bought it because my plant (first plant) is only 7 days old and is obviously far away from budding or anything. Any answers would be appreciated.

    You can still dry/cure the bud but it will lose weight. So no you wont get your moneys worth. But you still will get somthing and if you cure it good it will icrease potency/flavor and will make the smoke less harsh.

    Thanks. And btw when you say it increases potency, I forget if potency is the strength of the stone, or basically how strong the smell is?? If it is just the smell and taste, am I better off just smoking it now anyway then if the strength of the stone wont be increased?

    potency is refering to the" strength of the stone"

    Smell actually gets less strong on proper curing. And the bud gets denser and so more compact as well.

    Basically you have been sold undried bud, and sadly been totally ripped off, bud loses A LOT of weight on drying.

    This guy you bought from might be ripping you off....
    this bud may be cured properly, but i have heard of people leaving a wet paper towel in a bag with the bud, and the bud becomes more dense and "dank" if you will off of the moisture in the bag. this would be a way for the dealer to increase the weight and get more money.... very greedy...
