ive had one for over 6 months now, and i am loving it! did you buy any accessories? and what type of memory card did you get? first off, there is one thing i highly recommend. buy the battery backpack, it doubles the battery life, which is SOOOO handy much of the time. i have found a few things with it. it works amazing in really bright light, very well infact. however, it does not work that well and evening or in a darkish room, even during the day what type of filming do you plan on doing? time lapse can be alot of fun, especially when filming clouds, around 1 photo ever 1-5 seconds can make some amazing videos. i filmed the clouds for 4 hours taking a photo every 2 seconds. video turned out spectacular, even caught a bunch of contrails streaking through the blue sky. also, make yourself one of these: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG06IVQ26_o&feature=my_liked_videos&list=LLS4DeQAoD23Hhe6ovZgnkKg]How to get panning time lapse video for your GoPro HD - YouTube[/ame]
Hey, thanks for the good reply. I bought it off of craigslist for $190 (GoPro hero 2) it came with the suction cup mount, a bunch of the other mounts, the head mount, and a bunch of extra back doors, and the LCD backpack...he accidentally included his 32 gig memory card which was not for sale, so i returned it back to him =\ so now i am using a shitty 8 gig sd...i always carry the USB on me so charging shouldn't be an issue unless im outdoors or scuba diving or snowboarding...I found it works very well in low light (for not having a flash) The type of filming i am going to be doing are mainly driving videos, and POV videos. (snowboarding, go karting, etc.) Can you post a link to your video please? Hope to hear from you soon! Also, i cannot watch that video. the music is SO annoying. i know i can just turn off the volume but , fUCK
Its pretty much useless for anything but sports because the lens is so damn wide. If you dont BUY the LCD screen attachment your virtually dead in the water menu wise. Buy a spare battery because youll probably fuck up your current one getting it out of the unit. and Other than that have fun man.
looks like you are pretty much set! this is the memory card i purchases for mine, its VERY VERY fast, the quality of the video is super high due to it being a class 10 and a fast memory transfer rate SanDisk 32GB SDHC Memory Card Extreme Class 10 SDSDR-032G-A21 It does work well, but in certain conditions noise can appear in the video and pictures. The GoPro Hero 3 is literally out of this world for what it can do If thats the type of video you are doing, you will be a happy man If you are referring to the video I spoke of, being the one I made, I do not have it up on youtube, but I would be happy to upload it and PM you the link if you are going to use the LCD backpack, just be careful, it drains the battery like crazy!

Naw. Its not. I work in the TV industry. and ive worked with GoPro's since the first one came out. They suck in low light as well. Only good for sports. Thats it. Oh you need a random shot off the back of your dirtbike that your gunna jump 50ft in the air? Well the only thing that will do it is a superwide lens'd plastic box that your willing to lose upon impact and salvage the SD card for footage. The company i work for did season 1 of top gear... and they would return to us literally Pelican case 1650's [lil bigger than a generic suitcase] FULL of broken GoPro's. Theyre like disposable razors. Use em a few times till they go to shit and ditch em.
