Just a few questions +rep

  1. Hi all. Well, after reading hours on these forums, i've decided to build my own grow box. My only problem is figuring out how big my fan exhaust fan needs to be. I also plan on building a diy scrubber for this exhaust. My grow cab is approx. 27" high, 14" wide, 12" deep. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, if i have a passive intake, won't odor leak from this opening in the box?

    Again, your expertise is sought.
  2. Rule of thumb is you want your exhaust fan to be able to clear the grow space's air 3 times per minute. So, you calculate your cubic feet and then multiply by 3 and get a fan that size or bigger.

    2.25ft x 1.17ft x 1ft = 2.63 cubic feet. 2.63 x 3 = 7.9 CF.

You can get a 50 cfm bath exhaust fan for less than $15 and figure a way to rig ducting to it. :smoking:
  3. A cab that size should be ok with some pc fans. I'm assuming you're using CFL or LED? Just keep your temps stable and it's all good. If it starts getting too hot, add more air.
