Joints making me cough a lung up

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by tghost, Feb 7, 2010.

  1. waddduppp yalll??? Well I just got back from smoking one of the first few joints that I've rolled and for some reason every hit I've taken from this and the last one have made me cough a lung up without even inhaling that much smoke. I've smoked joints before these and had no problems, but for some reason these two have just tasted like paper big time and I could hold very little of it in my lungs.

It has been the same weed, but I've been mostly smoking it through my pipe with no trouble at all. The first joint I had a sore throat so I assumed that was the reason. But now I don't have any sore throat and it still hurts like a mofo.

    I'm using Zig-Zags and a filter.
I just smoked half of that joint and I had to stop midway. I think i'm just going to stick the rest into the bong. That half of the joint just got me pretty blazed too!:smoke:

  2. Well if it's not the weed, it has to be the paper. Just put it in your bong and enjoy the rest.

  3. Did you light the right end? Haha just kidding, but yeah I'd get a bowl, they save more weed, easier to prepare, easier to hide if you live with your parents. If not just smoke out of a bong, or get a vape.

  4. Maybe your weed got too dry? Its a shame.. but if that is the case all you gotta do is stick a piece of bread in your bag overnight and itll be just finee

If not the bong would always work :)

  5. take sloooow hits from the joint, and make sure it's not burning hella fast. Just take slower smoother drags from it and it'll be easier on your lungs & throat. Don't forget to get yourself something to sip on.

dry bud will make you cough like a champ too.

  6. I always found the tiniest bit of rolling tobacco (literally about 20:80 baccy to weed ratio) seems to cool the smoke and makes the hits a bit more manageable, as well as making the spliff burn far better.

  7. have you just started blazing or dont blaze to much? this happened to me back in the day when I first started smoking herb

  8. HOLY SHIT thats been happening to me all last night. Of course I have a sore throat like you said. Had no bud just keif so I smoked out of a lightbulb vape and cough so fucking hard. It lasted like anywhere 5-15mins and like because every time I breath I had to cough

  9. i use cig filters in joints, i know it filters out a little thc but it smoothens out the hits so much its amazing. i coughf up a lung also if i used the rolled up paper "filter"

  10. If you aren't used to smoking from a joint it can be excessively harsh, I remember blunts used to do that to me. The more you smoke from a certain device, the easier it is to handle the smoke and take bigger hits, so just be patient!

  11. If your weed was dry and you ground it up too finely you could be getting little particles when you suck on it. When that happens to me I always cough and feel like puking for a minute, and I never cough from smoking otherwise. After you roll the j and put it in the filter, hold it between your fingers vertically, with the filter end downward. Hold it like 1-2 inches above your desk and drop it so the end hits the desk. Do this for a minute and you should be able to get the dust to fall out of the filter end. Then suck through it without lighting.

Be careful while you're grinding the weed if you have a one-chamber grinder. There's a fine line between needs-more-grinding and ground-to-dust-and-nasty. We're talking like a quarter turn of the grinder here sometimes. You've gotta get it to just the right consistency.
