Yes, essentially the same stuff. Potassium silicate. Mine is not a powder, it's a thick clear liquid. Thick like mollasses. It's by Cannamax I think. I add 1/4 table spoon to a 2 liter bottle of water. Then I have been adding 1 tbsp per a 5 gallons. I know it is extremely strong. I was definitely going overboard with it. I'm going to dial back my usage of it. My girls seem much happier now for it. I have to always try remember "a little goes a long way" or "less is more". I had this stuff left over from my bottle grow days. It was one of the first grow imputs I ever bought. I still have half the bottle. Maybe I should shell out and get some ph neutral silicate. I do like the results when used properly. I get really strong, hearty, woody plant stalks and branches. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk
I’ve been using Grow-Sill at 1/16th - 1/8tsp per gal for all waterings and foliar sprays for a year now. But lately I have been thinking about just sprinkling it around the plants and letting them do the work, lol. Especially since I had to clean out a pretty dirty Blumat Res today. Not going to add anything to it, except Soap nuts to clean it out and the drip lines.
I find I get floaties in my reservoir as well which attributed to the silicate. I would run a bilge pump in the res with a filter cloth wrapped over the output. However now that I stopped adding it I have not been getting the floaties. My plan is add it till my reservoir reaches no higher than 7.3 from 7 (tap water is 7ph). It is currently sitting at 7.5. Every day I add to my 40 gallon reservoir 5 gallons (to keep the water pressure constant. I need to fix this issue). I must have added 25 gallons buy now but it will not go any lower than 7.5. I'm trying to water it down lower but it doesn't want to go. Plants are happy so I see no reason to dump the reservoir and start over. Hopefully sooner or later it will continue to drop. I have remedied the floaties in my reservoir. I no longer add soap nut tea to the reservoir. Instead I place soap nuts under each dripper. It is just straight water in my reservoir now. Hopefully this works, lol. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk
Hey bud, Have u noticed and issues with using soap nuts as a soil drench , I use it for foliar , if I make too much I use as a soil drench . Every time I do this , my worms go crazy . Like they are being tortured . They come up through my mulch and wiggle all over the place . This is the only time I’ve noticed this . It happens every time I do a drench with soap nuts . I have not noticed it in my watering but I have been putting very little in. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk
Just got home from 7 days vacation at the lake. Had this baby on auto pilot. Walked into this tonight. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk
I'm glad this journal resurfaced. I'm in debate right now moving to no till. I think I already have made my decision but I'm not 100% sure. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum

I did the clackamas coot mix. 1/3 local chicken compost, 1/3 lava rock and 1/3 spangnum petemoss in 30 gallon fabric pots. 1 gallon of home made charged bio char. 6 cups of granite rock dust. 3 cups of kelp meal, crab meal, neam meal, malt barley powder. I handful of red wiggler worms. Anything that comes off the plant that I don't use gets top dressed. I have top dressed ground eggs shells, fish bone meal, rock dust and malt barley powder. I'm on my 4th or 5th round and I amend the meals at the start of each round. I chop at the base of the plant and leave the rest for the the soil. I immediately replant and start my next round. I had been adding soap nut tea to my water but recently stopped and just added the soap nuts under my drippers. I also was adding potassium silicate to my water but measured the ph at 8 so I now add it in my weekly drench with my humid and fulvic acid and bacteria innuclent I got from a local company. I have blu mat drippers feeding straight water from start to finish. I have a 208 liter reservoir I fill every 2 weeks and it l's still 1/4 full. I have a dehumidifier going and I fill my reservoir with water from my dehumidifier and top up with the tap. I have been monitoring my water ph between 6.5 and 7 and have noticed better results this round. I try to keep my soil moist, not wet so my soil food web can thrive. If done properly living soil is supposed to get better with age and ultimately require no amending and just straight water and any un used plant material. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk
