Jodie Jones Murder case, allmost being blamed on Cannabis!

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by sidious, Jan 5, 2005.

  1. Well in case anyone doesn't know a girl in the U.K. was murdered a few Months back, and they arrested her then boyfriend Luke Mitchell, now i'm not going to concentrate on whether he did it or not, i'm not on the jury.

But what happened today in court was a joke, he was found to have 4 1/2 oz of cannabis resin in his possesion when charged, and claimed it was for his personal use, due to his g/f being murdered, he increased his smoking to what he claimed was 2oz per week............maybe he did, maybe he was a dealer (what the prossecution are after)..........doesn't matter, nothing to do with her murder...........so the official police Doctor said he had "never heard of such amounts being smoked,

(yeah right, my mate smokes 1oz a week and has a full time job, imagine what an unenployed person could smoke, if he had the funds from somewhere)

that would amount to him smoking 600 Joints a week"...................YEAH RIGHT in your fucking dreams!!..........my mate smokes heavy, and it's like 8 joints a day, approx 56 joints per oz say..............the dude smoked 2 oz a week.........and that's supposed to = 300 joints!!!!!!!!!!!!

now i did the maths, and here's how it comes out..........if he did indeed smoke 600 Joints a day, his 4 1/2 oz which = 126 grams, now if i divide that by 600!!...........it works out to 0.21 grams of hash per Joint, compared to my mates 0.5 grams, not a lot you may say, but over double what the police Doc says...........to get 600 joints from that, you'd have to VERRRYYYYY tight with the weed.

so all in all, they're now i know they're going to go down the "he must have been a dealer" etc etc etc........and then i have no doubt over the next few days if that doesn't work, or added to it........ "Surely the amount of Cannabis that was consumed may have affected his judgement, and could have possibly induced a state of Euphoria, which may have indeed fueled this vicious and verocious attack, as we have allready heard from the police Doctor, he has never heard of such amounts of Cannabis being consumed over such a short period of time. Do we even know the effects that that much Cannabis may have on the human body?"

poor old Cannabis, will somehow be dragged into the dirt one way or another, even if the defence goes for a Manslaughter charge, or the basis of being High from smoking too much Cannabis...........

Either way, our fine herb loses, and it's setting us back from Legalisation, or keeping it decriminalised whan the next govt gets voted in.............

    Peace out.............Sid

  2. wow thats a load of crap, never in my life have I wanted to attack or hurt someone after smoking....They are just saying this because they have no other leads on the case probably, plus today alot of people like to blame anything from metal music to now weed for peoples violent outbursts..its sad.

  3. oh yeah, forgot to add, he has long hair and listens to Nirvana.........not saying the're sterotyping him, but just when you mentioned music it reminded me that i forgot to add a kind of description of him, so you's could visualise him.......Peace out........Sid

oh yeah they also mentioned that his or her fav poem was Kurt Kobains quote, something like "the best day i'll ever have is when tomorrow never comes"......or something like that..........it's been mentioned a few times on the news as well...........

  4. I've been reading a bit about that, sounds pretty crazy to me.

Boyfriend in Jodi killing case 'smoked 40 joints a day'
    By Auslan Cramb, Scotland Correspondent

The boyfriend of Jodi Jones, the Scottish schoolgirl found dead near her home, told a psychiatrist he was smoking the equivalent of 40 cannabis joints a day in the weeks leading up to the girl's death, a court heard yesterday.

<SCRIPT language=javascript src="/core/NetGravity/mpu.js"></SCRIPT>Luke Mitchell, 16, who denies murdering the teenager, also said his consumption doubled after her death.

However, a police officer told the High Court in Edinburgh that he doubted whether even an adult could have taken that amount of cannabis and continued to function.

"It is a huge amount," said Dc Brian Melrose, 42, a drug squad officer. "I have never heard of that amount used by anyone I have spoken to in 19 years of police service."

The court heard that when police arrested Mitchell and charged him with murdering Jodi, 14, they found a piece of cannabis resin in his trousers weighing more than 97 grammes, and two smaller pieces weighing almost seven grammes. Mitchell said he had paid around £150 for it.

Dc Melrose told the court that that price would be "cheap", but "not without the bounds of possibility".

The detective added that a user might add 150mg or 200mg of cannabis resin to tobacco to make a reefer cigarette. Asked how many reefer cigarettes could have been made from Mitchell's cannabis, Dc Melrose said: "You are looking at nearly 500."

The officer said a drug user might smoke three or four, perhaps five, such joints a day.

He added that scales and plastic bags found at Mitchell's home in Dalkeith, Midlothian, were of a type used by drug dealers.

Alan Turnbull QC, prosecuting, showed the officer a report which said that during an interview with a doctor Mitchell said he was using about two ounces of cannabis a week before Jodi died. Afterwards, it was more like four ounces a week.

Dc Melrose agreed that two ounces a week would cost around £90, and would make "something of the order of 300 reefer cigarettes".

The court later heard extracts of a statement given by 15-year-old Laura Whiteman, who described herself as Jodi's best friend, and a friend of Mitchell.

She said Jodi and Mitchell "really, really loved each other" and she believed he was innocent of the killing.

Mitchell denies murdering Jodi, of Easthouses, Dalkeith, in woods near Roan's Dyke, on June 30, 2003 by hitting her and constricting her neck. He claims that at the time he was in, or near his home in Dalkeith, and that Jodi was murdered by a person, or persons, unknown.

He also denies being concerned in the supply of cannabis resin and possessing knives in public places.

    The trial continues.
