Figured I'd start a thread for the king of acid rock and the blues. So what's your favorite album? Favorite song? Anyone play any of his stuff? My favorite album, and please don't shoot me for saying it, hahaha, is the "new" album People, Hell, and Angels. It sounds a lot more like just a good jam sesh than an album, and the bassist in it is fucking awesome.
Really, it's a stoner forum and there isn't a single person who appreciates Jimmy? Wow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EX5phFmbrU8
My all time favourite Hendrix song is The WInd Cries Mary, I've got it on vinyl and I listen to it over and over all the time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LK69zlAA4K0&feature=kp
Acid rock is my jam!!! I love anything from the Monterey Pop Festival...Janis of course and I love Country Joe and the Fish. Can't go wrong with any Jimmy. Have you seen his exhibit at the rock and roll hall of fame? They have some of his art work from high school. Its really incredible. Sent from my XT1056 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Jimi hendrix invented a new to style of playing guitar which so many copied!! He was musically illiterate, but still managed to do incredible things with that instrument by ear, hendrix is one of my favorites!
Love his music to this day...one of the very best muscians of all-time! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPtv14q9ZDg&feature=youtube_gdata_player Sent from my SM-T310 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I think that his first three albums, with the Jimi Hendrix Experience, were the best works of his career - not to dismiss later efforts but each album in that trilogy is enough to insure his place in the history of rock's greatest artists. My own favorite is, Axis Bold As Love.
its a well known song but, "All Along The Watch Tower". Whole song is good, and i love the part where he does that guitar solo thing, where it feels like the notes are like waves. I remember back in the years, i was listening to that song, after i took a certain "scooby doo character", and i saw that guitar solo, and it was just a wave. Most Dope.

Jimi Hendrix was fucking amazing, i wish i had the opportunity of seeing him live. That man knew his way around the fret board, he could make his guitar weep.
Electric Ladyland is definitely the best Hendrix album for me. And Voodoo Child (Slight Return) is the best Hendrix song, probably the best guitar song ever in fact. Love this Jimi track too though not on any of the albums for some reason. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ck7kmTvA-5w
I love his Live at Winterland album. The first time I heard it, it blew me away. There's no one else like him. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
