First time grower here. I bought some seeds online and planted them in Jiffy peat pellets. A week went by and I didn't see any seedlings popping up so I dug around the pellet with my finger. The seeds hadn't even put out a tap roots! Am I supposed to prepare these peat pellets in any particular way besides pour RO or drinking water into them?
Peat pellets are great! The only advice I would have to give is DO NOT allow them to become to saturated, if they get to wet your seeds will not germinate. Moist, not soaked......
prepare em the day or night before.... I used to use em all the time. excessive water retention, pellets too packed ( slowing early root growth and stunting plants),and unstable PH caused me to switch to coir/perlite, in solo cups, but with a little bit of fore thought Jiffy Pellets are nice and easy to use, and take almost no space..
