I watched the movie last night, seen it once before. It's about a guy addicted to heroine that sees things in a really different way and knows. The movies based of a book writen in the 90's but I was listening to Velvet Underground's song Heroine and he makes a reference to Jesus' son: I dont know just where Im going But Im gonna try for the kingdom, if I can cause it makes me feel like Im a man When I put a spike into my vein And Ill tell ya, things arent quite the same When Im rushing on my run And I feel just like jesus son And I guess that I just dont know And I guess that I just dont know And thats way before the book and movie.
I'm just going to take a stabb at why this could be. 1) The author of the book listened to Velvet Underground and thought it a very suitable title (does the movie make reference to anything about Jesus' Son or is it just the title?) Or, 2) It is/was a way of describing the high of herioine... You know Jesus probably felt pretty good, being Gods son and all and herioine has the effect of making you feel like everything is perfect, etc. Just my two guesses!
