Maybe it was all fake. Maybe some worthless piece of shit begger made it all up while on drugs. That makes a lot more sense to me than anything else in the Christian religion.

 

I don't think those in the Bible did drugs at all. I think that's something people made up so they can feel better about themselves for doing drugs.

Just 'cause you can't explain somethin, doesn't mean that whoever wrote it was on drugs. Sheesh...

It sounds to me like you don't understand how the Bible was put together. I could see why you would think that... But it wasn't just 1 person who sat down one day and decided to write a book...

It was put together over a good while from manuscripts that were found on 3 different continents, and that spanned about 1,700 years. Oh, they were also written by about 40 different people (39-40, depending on who you believe to be the author of Revelation).

There were certain requirements that were needed for a manuscript to be considered "scripture". A couple were: It had to be life-changing, and had to evidense divine inspiration.

Some people say that it was changed so it doesn't contradict... Couldn't have happened. People aren't perfect, so a group of people conspiring to make an imperfect book perfect probably wouldn't be able to do so. There'd be conflict of interests, and somewhere along the lines they'd slip up.

Why then, is there not 1 single, legitimate, contradiction found in the Bible?

I'm not tryin to debate with you or anything... Just trying to give a little information is all.

EDIT: Also, with the KJV, the translations were totally public. There were 3 groups of translators, each group having their work checked by each other group. Then the final works were submitted to a council to - again - check the work. This was all done openly.

Some other versions, though, were a lil different. The Westcott and Hort versions were done in secret, by people with definite agendas. Some were homosexual, some were in the occult, and some were atheist. This would be why the Catholic version, and today's modern versions (NIV, ASV, NARV, NASV, GNB, etc.) all directly attack vital Christian doctrine (I have a thread about this in Spirituality and Philosophy if anyone's interested. It's very long and deep).

A the Bible was not Writin by One person but many , there are Many section's to a bible each was writin by another prophet or religious person most likly a prophet.

I Seriously doubt jesus ever did any drug's in hes lifetime.

It is true that the Bible it'self is Fill'd with many hole's it has been Edite'd and cut up Over and Over again too best fit what they want people too know and beleive. Too find a true Historicly Correct bible is allmost Impossible these day's the last known *old'st* bible in existance is in Germany i beleive or London.

There are many thing's in a bible that make absolutly no sense mainly the reason why is the Rest of the story was takin out either because it didnt Seem Christian but if it's in the bible who is to judge what Christianity is or Isnt.

Here's some thing's im sure you didnt know...No one truly know's if any of this is true or not but it was Writtin. not in the Everyday Bible tho.
When Jesus was a child before the Arch Angel came to him and Told him he was God's son , He Still had these Power's he could not explain.

So there are many thing's in the bible that we Will Never know. because of how much it has been Change'd over the many many year's.

all you have to remember is he Really did go threw all of the Torture and pain and Was Crusified on the Cross And Still had the heart to say to those that were about to End hes life You Are Forgivn. God would have Burn'd that City to the Ground and for all we know The Entire human race if it wern't for Jesus being the way he was.

I used to be a christian myself. It's not like I hate christianity as a whole -- I think it's a wonderful branch of religion. Most religions serve a good purpose, both with keeping many people in social rules or boundries and giving people hope of a world after this one filled with pure bliss (if they believe right). I also dig christians who use logic in their thinking (Example: Igotthecottons). These people are perfect examples of what christianity SHOULD be. You know WHY you believe in it, and it works for you.

I quit believing in any God only due to the fact that logic and reason will never lure someone to religion, and I am an overly logical guy. The whole idea of it, in my head, is kind of a silly concept (Not silly that someone would believe it, there are perfectly good reasons to believe in a God. I just mean from an outside perspective, feeling like I have a good grasp on the idea of it, it's a little silly) . So many different groups of people from so many different geographical locations believe in so many different gods. They used to bury pharaohs with their most beloved items and treasures so that they could be with it in the afterlife. Many of them believed this.

Millions of people believe that they will come back as another form once they die.

Millions of people believe in the idea of Buddhism and Hindu.

Millions believe in Jesus Christ, and there is a wole group of God worshipers that completely deny his existance as the messiah and son of God.




And if you pick the wrong one, you get to go to hell (Assuming only certain religions believe in this concept). I think too many athiests hate christianity because of a lot of modern christian youth, or perhaps because many christians have their own set of political ideas based on their religion. This is not the religions fault, it's the fault of the people. So, let's go ahead and dislike some christians (The ones that havea negative impact on us), but not all of them. You can't blame anyone for wanting to believe in something more than what's here on Earth. Our consiousness, our being self-aware, means that once we die, we lose ourselves. We lose everything we knew on Earth and we give up the entire living experience that we have come to hold on so dearly to... so what better way to remedy this awful eventuality than to be confronted with the idea that we were created to bring glory to a being that will inevitably accept us all so we can continue an even better life after this one!


(Everything on the planet lives, and so do we. The key difference is that Humans are self-aware. I guarantee you that if and when a branch of apes begins to evolve enough that they can grasp the concept of "I," they will find their own religion as well.)

If everything is true...which it is suppose to be...thats alot of tight ass shit that happened (sort of). An if not who knows where we will go at the end...thats why were scared of death right? If there was no Holy Lord there would be no way of expressing how everything was made. If you can think of a way please do tell.

 

I dont get this, incest is wrong according to the bible right? So if Eve came from Adam's rib, where did there offsprings' mates come from? Wouldnt it contradict itself if Adam and Eve's kids, reproduced with each other?
