  2. Love the Jefferson Airplane! Surrealistic Pillow is one of the greatest albums ever. And Grace Slick back in the 60's!

  3. Yeah good shit. The 60-70s were condensed with so much good music that it makes today's music look very shitty.

  4. damn i love white rabbit!!

  5. God I used to have a BIG OLD crush on Grace Slick, but then I'm old enough to remember when she didn't look like an old hag and didn't act like a stuck up bitch. That said, yeah the Airplane was amazing shit - until they turned into shit and became "Starship".

  6. I completely agree I would do some fucked up things to get with her back in the day and starship sucked but Jefferson starship was ok

  7. love jefferson airplane. amazing music. woulda loved to see them in the 60s.

  9. Grace Slick tried to spike Nixon with acid. Just for that I love them.

  10. Holy jesus....i have never wandered into this part of the forum but i HAVE to say that NO ONE loves Grace Slick as much as me. I've been devoted to Jefferson Airplane when i first heard After Bathing At Baxters back when i was 9 years old and i even have one of her paintings. Cost me a fortune but she inscribed it to me and i have a picture with her. I even talked to her for about an hour when i purchased it. I have a tattoo "Feed your head" on my arm and well, I am SURPRISED that I wasn't the one who started this thread. Goddamn, i could go on all day about how much i love The Great Society and Jefferson Airplane.

Smoke a doobie to this one

  12. I saw them live in Central Park, May 3, 1970, there's a bootleg of that concert but I have yet to find anywhere to get it.

There's several good live albums by JA, but I highly recommend Bless It's Pointy Little Head, tracks were recorded at the Fillmores East and West. Jack is on the cover, looks like he had been drinking - but his playing on the album is incredible.

I want to get a copy of Surrealistic Pillow, on vinyl, in mono - this LP has much better sound tnan the stereo version. Original copies are very rare, but it's available again since Sundazed reissued it.

  13. I like this song.

  17. At one of the Fillmore East shows, Nov. 1968, they showed the end of the movie King Kong, which can be heard on the recording above. I love how the crowd is cheering for the ape and booing the planes that eventually killed him. :hello:
