Jays gone awry!

Discussion in 'Beginner Cannabis Consumption & Tips' started by simmer, Mar 23, 2010.

  1. I love using bongs or my bubbler.
Tried rolling a jay...went horribly awry
I lit up and it burst into flame and most of the smoke just escaped like that.
I tried several times to light it again but it went horribly wrong
I eventually ended up with a fifth or fourth of the cursed jay left and said fuck it I'm not wasting any more and put it into my bubbler :smoke:

What did I do wrong? I think I underfilled it with weed... I had no clue how much to put in there.

Should I fill up like 80 percent of the papers area before

  2. sorry I don't have any pictures or a video for you guys to critique lol

  3. search up how to roll with a dollar on youtube. one of the easiest ways to roll a perfect j every time :smoke:

  4. sounds to me like you just needed to roll it tighter :) if you really want to smoke a jay dont give up you will get the hang of it, or you could always by a cigarette roller

  5. Just spread it out evenly, like half a nick to a whole nick. Fold it over like 3 times and just roll with your thumbs. The paper should comply and just roll real easy, it may rip if you do it too hard but just keep rolling.

  6. The trick to rolling is to get it tight enough that there's not enough air inside for the contents to flame up. If you roll it too tight (although I've never had this happen) it won't stay lit because there's no air. Sounds like you rolled it loose enough that there was enough air under the paper to let go up in flames. While you're rolling it up with your thumbs you have to keep pressure on the paper to keep it tight.

  7. Yea with joints you want to go tight with your tucking, because paper burns quicker than a tobacco leaf. Not only because of this, but because itll last longer as well. Pick up some zig zag slow burns, theres a definite different between them and regulars ive noticed.
