Hows it going Grass City members, I'm finally starting my first all organic grow. Ive got myself a 26" tall PC tower I'm growin in with 4 23w, 65k CFL's and 4 23w, 27k for flowering. After all my research Im deciding Im going with the SCRoG method along with topping. I bought Chrystal Feminized seeds from Nirvana and I'm currently using Miracle Grow's Organic potting soil. I'm planning to use there line of nutrients in about 2 weeks so wish me luck and any advice along the way will be much appreciated....Thanks ya'll.
1/24/11: The seeds came in the mail today. I bought Chrystal Feminized seeds from Nirvana Started germinating the cannabis seed today at 6:36 p.m. by placing seed in between two wet napkins and placing on top of computer tower, so the seed is situated in a heated environment.
1/25/11: This first grow will be a “soil growâ€. Although I have the “hydroponic grow†setup, I don't feel very comfortable setting up that kind of grow as of yet. The seed is almost at the 24 hour germination point, as of right all I see is a tiny slit open in a corner of the seed, hopefully that is where the root is trying to come out from. I've turned on the PC Grow Box at 3:04 p.m. without the seed in the growing medium. The soil I chose to use for growing my plant is the Miracle Grow Organics Potting soil. The lights and fans are working and the lights have been positioned close to the growing medium. The soil has been watered at this point. Transplanted seed from napkins to growing medium soil at 3:27 p.m.
1/26/11: I woke up today and opened up the unit to see if there has been any protruding stem growth, as of right now, there has been no stem breaking ground. I've been watering the soil with regular tap water. I know that I shouldn't be using the tap water but that's all I have right now.
Can anyone tell me how long do I need to wait (is it usually a couple days) for the plant/stem to grow out of the soil. I'm a bit concerned cause I didn't wait until the seed was fully germinated outside of the soil. I just noticed after about 24 hours of keeping the seed soaked between two paper towels that there was a tiny slit in the corner of the seed. So then I decided to just plant the the seed into the soil medium about 1/2 inch to an inch deep. I watered the soil and I have the lamps pretty damn close to the soil. Am I on the right track or am I doing something wrong because it's been about 2 days or so and the plant stem has not come out of the soil. Can someone please advise? Thanks.
1/27/11: Turned lights off at 3:47 p.m. as per advice from fellow GC member. The member states that I should turn lights back on when seed breaks ground. I also covered the container lightly with a plastic bag to help keep the moisture in as per advice from member. Out of impatience, lol, I just picked through the soil with my fingers at the location where I implanted the seed, and low and behold I saw that the seed had sprouted and a white round head and a tail (roots) were there.
I would hold off with the water for now, as you have a small container. and I usually leave the light on, until it comes up from the soil, so it has direction, and a light source right when it does pop up.
of course I didnt mean "until the seedling sprouts" haha I have mine on a 20/4 light cycle. anything between 24 hours and 16 hours of light will be the best. ..if you didnt know already.
1/28/11: I opened up the case at about 8:00 p.m. and saw a little plant making its way out of the ground. Pretty cool stuff!
so any tips on what I should be doing at this point, I have the lights pretty close the plant. How much should I water the plant, should I start giving it nutes?
some more growth, woohoo. can anyone tell me how much I should be watering the plant at this point and if I should be giving it nutrients (if so, which kind?) Thanks.
Im just giving mine superthrive at the moment. Ive read alot of the guides on here, and there are all very useful. There is so much information around here, just have a look and Im sure you will find exactly what you need for your budget/space/availability to grow the best possible.
Sup guys, I'm currently in the flowering stage (been about 2-3 days of flowering). It's been a month since I germinated the seed for this plant. Any advice on what I should be doing at this point?
Nice plant. I'm setting up my own growbox similar to yours. my question is, what nutes, if any did you use? I will be using MG Organic soil as well.
