Welcome to my new grow. I built a Bubble Bucket system with all credit to Rumple for the guides. It consists of two bubble buckets and one resivoir bucket. The resivoir bucket has a fill and drain valve, sight tube, and I have a pH, EC, TDS meter in the mail which I will install into the res bucket. I also ordered an RO so hopefully the clean water will help for some good growth. The System: 1000w Dual Digital Ballast w/6 inch air cooled hood (Flower) 1 T8 Cool white fixture (Veg, moms, clones) 3 Bubble Bucket linked system 6 Stage Reverse Osmosis system (ebay) 6-1 Digital Meter B.C. Nutes, Magical, Sugar Daddy, Vegan Compost Tea Strains: Jack Herer Blue Mystic (clones) Purple #1 (experiment) Some purple bagseed I grew a year ago. About the strains: First off, my brother gave me some seeds he said he got from the Jack Herer we had a while back cause I didnt find any in my sack, so hopefully its some real Jack. He gave me 4 seeds, I germed 2 and both sprouted and are growing. I planted one in soil for an organic grow to compare to my bubble bucket grown. My Blue Mystics are clones and Im hoping I can enhance the quality this time, maybe get a little color?? Im growing the Purple #1 to try and cross it with my other girls (if I have them) to maybe add some colors to the better strains, well see. Also, I had some bagseed I grew that ended up with purple flowers and it wasnt too bad of a smoke. My Setup: Im using an open closet with a good vent system. You can see in the pics how everything is routed. But, I have a 6 inch inline fan hooked up to the hood with duct hose running to an un-used air vent in the room. Im going to be installing a carbon scrubber onto the light to eliminate the smell. I have a very stealthy window vent. The shades are down in the window so from outside it looks like the shades are down with the lights off. I put up cardboard on the other side and taped a flange with 4 inch duct hose going to an inline fan that blows into the grow room so the plants have nice fresh air. Plenty of vertical room for the girls to grow. PICS Tonight I only have a pic of the one Jack seedling in the bubble bucket and the Blue Mystic clones in a small bubbler cloner I made. The Jack seedling. 3 days out of shell. Clones More pics tomorrow.
Good strains, good set-up, good pictures, ill grab a seat for this one. good-luck to your grow, updates when you can.
I count wait to put the big blue girl into the grow room, shes been outside for a while and shes looking beautiful (clone). I just tied her down, gonna try some lst. I lifted the light alot to get the BM in but lowered it after I tied her down and took pics. I had to put the Jack seedling on a bucket to get it closer to the light. You can see she got pretty tall, and I know from experience that she produces huge colas from the tops. Im really hoping everything goes well cause its some great smoke.
Put the rest of the plants in there today. I was going to save the other bubble bucket for a Blue Mystic clone but I dont think I want to any more. Im going to put the other Jack into the bucket. Should be easier since they will both grow the same way with the same nutes. Its really crowded. Ill be moving the BM plant into a different room under a 250w HPS on its own to clear up some space. Put it into flowering tomorrow or monday. These are the purple bag seed I grew, I think Ill call it Bruiser. I have about 15 seeds from that plant and the male was from a batch of Nebula I had so hopefully its some dank. Out of the 2 I germed, both a success. Purple #1. Im really wondering if this thing will turn out at all decent. This is the other Jack seedling, lookin all fucked up. It may grow out of it.
Did a little shopping today. I bought a hygrometer, a new bucket, hosing, and an insect guard. The buckets are all now hooked up together and now Im just waiting on my meter to get here so I can install it on the rez. The small Jack plant wasnt growing very well and I wanted to grow the Nebula X Purple plant in a bubble bucket and compare to soil, and I was too eager to hook the buckets together. I also had the BM soil plant under a 250w hps, now outside again. My temps at max on a super hot day get to about 87ish and on a regular day will be about 77. With the lights off it will get down to around 67. Yeah, I know, I need to clean up the wires on the floor.
Thanks bro. Im really hoping the Jack plant turns out female. Its my favorite strain and Ill get it MAYBE once a year.
great setup man, ill be lookin forward to your grow, and you cant go wrong with them buckets there the shit.
My a/c unit is awesome. Right now its about 88-90 degrees outside, same as yesterday and my temps reached almost 90! Well, its been a pretty constant temp of high 80s since early this morning and its still 74 degrees in the grow room. Makes me happy. The Blue Mystic already started flowering so Im gonna leave her outside, My deck gets a shit ton of sunlight for the day and Im looking for some fresh outdoor. Im hoping its just in shock from transplanting to the bubble bucket, but the purple nebula plant is kinda droopy. But hey, if its not dead by now, its gotta just be reviving. It seems like its been too long for it to have not died.
Nice I subscribed and will be doing pretty much the same thing except will have a dual 400w for flower(5 in a 32 gallon rubbermaid bubble bucket type system with Res. and a dual 400w for Veg and a small clone area with clone hut.. I also have Jack Herrer seeds so I am very interested in your grow good luck.. +Rep
My reverse osmosis system came in today and I bought some new organic ferts for my soil girls, Fox Farm veg and flower dry fetilizer. If these work out well Im gonna stick with them cause the dry ferts are pretty damn cheap. Its alot bigger than I thought it would be. Fox Farm Peace of Mind.
The Jack really took off a few days ago, growin super fast now. The nebxpurp plant I put in a bubble bucket didnt do so hot in the transplant so Im gonna remove it as soon as a BM clone roots. The outdoor Blue Mystic. Shes flowering now, started about 3 days ago. Im trying to manage the bugs as much as possible but outside theres really not that much I can do, so I guess Ill just have to deal. And after about a week and a half of sitting in water this little Purple #1 showed a taproot and 3 days after planting in a hole dug in the ground filled with good soil, it popped out lookin nice and healthy.
My whole system is almost complete. The RO is hooked up and all Im waiting on is my water meter. Im installing a pump in the rez bucket to pump its water into the bubble buckets and the hoses that connect them currently will recirculate the water back into the rez. That should help me keep an eye on the exact levels of everything in the whole system. Oh and K2 is out of the picture, something tore the seedling out of its pot the other night and I have enough to keep me busy for now. The shelf life on the bud from it wasnt too great, then again, it was in a 420 jar for a long time and it was probably aged a bit. Tonights Update: I bought a small rubbermaid tub and turned it into a veg aero tub. I will be buying the jets tomorrow, already have pvc and a pump. When the babies in there show enough root they will go into the bubble buckets. What ever does not go into a bubble bucket will go into an Ebb & Flow tray. The current closet the plants are in will turn into a flowering closet with 2 bubble buckets and an e&f tray so I can hopefully have some constant harvesting going on.
nice build mordecai! and is that a float valve I see hooked up to your ro in there? I have been thinking about adding one to keep my rig full at all times with a bigger (or another) res is that all it takes to connect one - a feed line and all the rest is part of the float valve?
Thanks dude. Yeah, its super easy to put in. I only use about half of the waiter in that rez for my bubble buckets so I dont really need that float valve. Just screw it into the rez hook the line up and thats it.
dude you just solved a decision I have been having for a few weeks in a jsut few posts! NICE! the debate was between a larger system for flower OR an additional res added to my current rig mine is too small for the 6 I got in there now but I dont think I really need more than 4 flowering females anyways (even low yields outta my rig are still 3 oz per plant and I dont share much) I'll make a big ole 55 drum into another remote res with it's own bio matrix, circulation and gravity feed nutes right into it 30 - 40 gallons at a time through a float valve there is a good chance that 30 gallons would get me through flower end to end this is all good! I'll be able to almost NEVER do anything to the system at all with a 40 gallon buffer! thanks again
