You were told, as a child, that there was a man who lived in a whales stomach. This was a fairy tale your parents told you at night, such as the three little pigs and shit. You grew up believing Jack climbed a Giant beanstalk, and there were giants and shit. Because your parents told you this was true, but happened 2000 years ago, and scared you into thinking if you didn't believe in Jacko, then you would burn in a fiery place for eternity. You then grow up believing in said story, and fearing Jack and the giant beanstalk's wrath if you didn't believe. Pretty absurd right? tehe I don't know.

I'm not going to join your bashing religion because it simply has stories and not all stories are true. But I have to say that a lot of the stories in the Torah that seemed so outlandish were the begining of my disbelief.
