I might just be clicking all the wrong threads, but it seems like most threads collapse into malicious arguments after no time at all in the City nowadays. Have all the blades turned mean? It sounds dumb, I know, but I feel like, say a year ago, there was a lot more positive vibe in GC than there is now.
I don't know, most of the newer threads seem silly. I mostly stick to the Nirvana restricted section, the fishing thread, and the football thread. I'm trying to quit wandering into negative threads because they bring me into the negativity.
Seems like there's no thoughtful discussion anymore, but a lot of bigoted, narrow minded people having pissing matches. What I can't understand is that there are so many posters like this on a weed site. When I was younger most people that smoked were open minded and accepting of others, with more of a liberal lean than a conservative one....oh well, like Olsmoky says, the only chill place is Nirvana....
I don't know I'm new lol I just started posting a lot. I see some good stuff on here but a lot of if you don't agree their setup is the best they freak out. Or if you say things like CFL lights can do well for you lol
I was banned for a year. Was here the year before that. There were a ton of threads, prop 19 was warming up. Cool stuff happened. I lost touch when I was banned, and now that I am back I have to get into the momentum again. Havent seen it yet. but I have fait itll come back (non religiouss)

why were u banned? theres alot of assholes on this board, and alot of people that are underage, its so obvious.
Hey bahookah, haven't seen you around, lately. It's funny I made a thread talking about how negative the city feels lately and I got so many people telling me to shove it up my ass, basically. Don't care what anyone says it's not the same city. Most things people say are said for likes,reps, shock factor, or laughs. It's like facebook. It's not just the city though, other forums I frequent it's the same deal. /rant, good to see you post joe, peace.
The 2012 growers Challange had some great comradery. This years season is drawing to an end, but there are still a lot of us who post there. And you bet we will have a 2013 growers challenge soon enough. The organic forums have some great guys and great vibes too. And the stash threads are usually safe. Esoecially the "What are you smoking tonight" thread. Other than that, I mostly hang out in the grow journals. Find one that's chill and pull up a seat. It's all a matter of avoiding the drama....just like it real life.
He's talking about another thread, not this one. But, OP, I agree. It's starting to get pretty daunting. It's not even the negativity that gets to me, it's just the amount of misinformation that gets passed around nowadays, and the egos.
Ok that makes more sense. I thought he was being really over sensitive if he was mad at anyone on this thread, lmao. But yeah, there can be a lot of jerks, and it's hard not to get caught up in it sometimes. I try to be peaceful, but in far from perfect myself.
I think Chicken and I had a decent civil discussion yesterday, unfortunately I had to leave before i was done but it can definitely be done. You can find jerks everywhere, it sucks but best to just ignore it
Yeah, this thread is pretty tame compared to the ones that generally come up . But I think that's because this one is in a section that doesn't get frequented as often as, say, the general section. Don't get me wrong, there are some awesome people on here. The mods are great, and they really do a good job of cleaning this place up. I think weed has just become more popular, particularly over the last 3 or so years, and as a result you've got a greater number of idiots smoking it than before. That doesn't help the quality of discussion on the site. I mean, you can definitely feel a different vibe, and see a different quality of discussion, just by going back to threads from 2008 or so and seeing what was going on then. Sure, you still had trolls...but it didn't seem anywhere near as bad as it is today.
Access to the internet brings a lot of people too. Everyone has a smartphone these days and they all have internet access, with the app it adds even more. Honestly that's pretty much the only reason I'm on gc is because I found the app haha. It brings the good with the bad
