I have some seedlings that sprouted in a peat moss and perlite mixture. Can they grow in this until they are ready to tranplant in 4 - 6 weeks? I plan to flower in FF Ocean Forest with perlite added.
Possibly OK. Peat is organic but I don't believe has much nutritional value for the plants, so you will need to treat it almost like a soilless grow such as coco coir or rockwool. Peat also can lower your pH so keep an eye on that. Better yet, get a bag of organic potting soil with no added nutes and mix those three ingredients together.
I have them starting in 1 gallon and then moving to 3.5 gallon. I am trying to grow from things I just have around the house, and I have a full bag of peat moss, perlite, and fox farms ocean forest. I'm mainly worried about the ph of the peat moss like you said toastybiz. I think I'll keep them in the peat moss/ perlite mixture until they have problems or are ready to go in the 3.5.
