Issues with my plants i can't diagnose

  1. love and respect to all that read this. This is my first time growing and want to make sure my plants are healthy. After searching google and not feeling confident with the information i came across 20180624_152253.jpg humbly i request the assistance of those wiser than myself. I have two plants they are both approx.1 month old. One is growing at about half the rate as the other. I realized later they should have first been planted in a much smaller medium. The one that is smaller has shinny yellowish gold streaks on some leaves and holes in other spots. Since i gave it a feeding of alaskan fish emulsion 5-1-1 it seems to be improving. Both plants seem to have these shinny silverish dots that do not come off with water. From my research on the subject so far it seems to be either spider mites, fungus, or nutrient deficiency. I have attached pics, thank you. . .. ...

Tell us more about your regimen. Nutrients, soil, water ph, watering schedule. It may be a nutrient lock out from your water ph not being adjusted properly. Or possibly leaf miners by the looks of that bottom leaf. IDK.

  3. They look a little yellowish. Also bug bit a little.
Looking at your soil, looks like Kellogs maybe?
If so, I've found that to need a little extra magnesium.
I use Epsom salt for this. It also acts as a pH buffer. So if you have nitrogen lock out due to pH issues it will help there too.

  4. More perlite in your mix so your plans can grow freely and get air to The Roots

  5. How wrong would I be to 'guess' you over watered in an early stage?

This is a plant that experienced freezing overnight temps every night for 2 weeks.
Does any of this look similar?

  8. Thank you for your reply. I use e.b. stone organics potting soil. Watered them 2- 3 times a day with spray bottles as seedlings, as they grew i switched the watering to every 2-3 days or until top 1.5 inches of soil were dry.
This last thursday the 21st, was their first feeding of alaskan fish fertiizer 5-1-1. I used 1/2 the recommended amount. A week prior to that i spayed a diluted mixture on the smaller plant directly as i was suspecting it could be a nutrient deficiency. It seems to have improved since then. I keep my water at approximately 6.5. It comes out of the tap base so i add apple cider vinegar to increase the acidity. When i water i completely soak the plants until there is runoff. When i feed them i put only the amount i need diluted in 1 gallon of water between the two plants. I plan to feed once a week.

i have noticed what appears to be mites of some type, very few on the undersides of leaves. I have not found many and i have been cleaning the bottoms of leaves with water daily. I also plan to get ladybugs. There are other plants on my patio that bugs could easily tansfer from.
