Isolating certain cannabinoids in vape?

Discussion in 'Vaporizers' started by IvGotMilk, Dec 6, 2022.

  1. So I'm aware that there are scale charts revealing which temprature certrain cannabinoids vapourise -

But for example, what if you wanted to activate CBN without first activating the lower temp cannabinoids first?

If you wanted to vaoe THCv (cannabinoid found most prevalently in Sativa strains of cannabis. It is known to produce a more motivated, alert and energizing feeling of euphoria)... would you first need to inhale all of the previous ones?

    Any info would be appreciated!

    Thank you blades :D

  2. If you want to experience primarily CBN, I'd try an isolate, or making some super sleepy hash cap edibles. If you want to vape THCv weed, hunt down some THCv dominant seeds or clones, and grow your own. The trace amounts found in most strains won't have much of an effect by itself.

But to answer your question, kind of. Vaporization and decarboxylation are not instantaneous, there is an element of time which means they are processes which happen at different rates. If for instance you only wanted to vape d9 THC, and set your vape to 315º F, you'd still get a fair amount of THCa, but obviously if you get high from that, some if it is being decarboxylated first rather than being vaporized right away.

    Does that make sense? :volcano:

  3. First you need a vape that you can adjust the temp, thats tough as few do that these days,
my old Davinci junker can, which I just hold at 350f, at the chart I get all that from 350f all the way up to CBG at 126f, so yes you can't isolate with a vape as you mean, for vape users anything 350f and below leaves no stinky smell, as all the terps below 350f have been burnt off

    good luck

  4. even at low enough temp and pulling that heated air over all those compounds will decarboxylate and eventually form them into an Aerosol that is the Vapor we inhale , it occurs much quicker at high heat but will too occur with enough low heated air
